Demo Home Page and Login
You will need a Microsoft 365 Business tenant. You can get one from
User Accounts
Megan Bowen (alias MeganB) is the typical account used in MOD Hero demo modules. If this module requires a different logon account, or if additional accounts are needed, the information is provided in the Pre-Demo Setup Steps.
- Office 365 tenant:
- User name:MeganB@<Tenant>.onmicrosoft.com
- Password:The password for all accounts is available on your tenant's demo card on
Pre-Demo Setup Steps
Please complete the following steps on your demo phonebefore each presentation of the demo:

- Log into
- Sign in with the Megan Bowen demo credentials.
- If prompted to update credentials, click Cancel.
Getting started with Microsoft 365 Business
Microsoft 365 Business First Time Setup
Description of feature / Click StepsIntroduction
At the top of the Microsoft 365 Business admin center you will see the first-time setup banner. To start the first-time setup experience, click the Continue setup button. /
- At the top of the Microsoft 365 Business admin center, click the Continue setup button.
NOTE: If this is a first-time setup, the button may read Start setup instead.
Connecting to a custom domain
As many businesses have custom domain names, you can as an administrator connect to a domain you already own. For this scenario we assume that you do not have a custom domain and will continue using the M365B domain you already have. /
- SelectContinue using <DOMAIN>.onmicrosoft.com for email and signing in, then clickNext.
Add new users
From this screen you can add new users to your tenant. We already have 25 accounts and all our licenses are assigned to demo users. We will skip this step. /
- Click Next.
Add licenses to unlicensed users
From this screen you can assign licenses to users that are unlicensed. On this screen you will see a list of users that do not need licenses for this quick start guide, so we will skip this step. /
- Do not add licenses to any unlicensed users, and then click Next.
Migrate email messages
If you have been using a different mail service you can migrate those mailboxes to Exchange online. We are assuming you do not have a different mail service so we will skip this step /
- Leave Don’t migrate email messages selected, and then click Next.
Protect work files on mobile devices
These settings let users safely access email and work files on their mobile devices, without you needing to manage the device or the user's personal information.If a device is lost or stolen, admins can remotely remove company data without affecting personal data. /
- ExpandProtect work files when devices are lost or stolen.
- ExpandManage how users access Office files on mobile devices.
- Toggleallfeatures so that they are set to On.
- ClickNext.
Set Windows 10 device configuration
With Microsoft 365 Business,when a user connects a Windows 10 device to your organization, they'll automatically receive the settings that you configure. You can also make sure that users get the latest version of Office installed on their devices.
[Note]: If you click next and advance past this point, you will not be able to access this first run experience again. If you wish to demo this again in the future,clickExit and continue later /
- Expand Secure Windows 10 devices.
- ClickExit and continue later.
NOTE: If there is no plan to rerun this demo again on this tenant, you can click Next here instead.
Device Policies
Back in the admin center you can configure Device Polices and take Device Actions. Let’s look at Device Policies first.
If you completed the first-time setup steps you will notice that you have configured 5 device polices. Click into a device policy to review it. /
- On the Admin center home page, if the Need help fly-out appears to the right, close it.
- On the Admin center home page,clickDevice policies.
- View the different device policies you just created during the first-time setup experience.
- Click Applicationpolicy for Windows 10, and then note the policy settings in the fly-out to the right.
- In the left navigation, click Home to return to the Admin center home page.
Device Actions
Back in the admin center you can take actions against devices that are enrolled in your Azure active directory. At this point you will not have any devices enrolled.
If you have an enrolled device you can remove company data from a Windows or Mobile device. From a Windows device you can also Factory reset the device remotely. /
- On the Admin center home page, point to the Device actions card.
Reset Instructions
Follow these steps to reset the demo after each presentation:
- On the Admin center home page, in the Microsoft 365 Business Preview setup area, click Continue setup.
NOTE: This should put you on the last page of the setup wizard. - Undo changes made during the demo and click Back until you reach the first page of the setup wizard.
- Click Exit and continue later.
