2017 - 2018Policies and Procedures

Class Levels:

To maintain proper dance levels in each class, recommendations may be made as to the placement of each child to fully develop his/her abilities.

Dance Wear:

Proper dance wear is required by the second week of classes. Girls should have proper shoes, leotards, tights and hair pulled back. Boys should wear tennis shoes, loose shirts, and comfortable pants or shorts. Gum chewing is strictly prohibited during warm-ups and class. Oversized clothes are permitted only during warm-up.

Tuition:

Tuition is due by the 15th of theprevious month. No refunds will be given for classes missed. Late charges will be assessed to any account that is past due.

An annual registration fee is charged per family. Tuition is an annual fee based on monthly installments throughout the dance year on a per student basis.

Boys Classes:

Boys with no sibling student at the studio will receive discounted tuition at 50% of the regular tuition fee. Boys with siblings may register for classes in one discipline for free. Additional classes at 50% of regular tuition fee.

Preschool & Beginner I Combination Classes:

Preschool I and II classes for children ages 2 to 5 years old. Combination of Acrobatics, Tap and Ballet. Beginner I classes for children 5 to 7 years. Combination of Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Acrobatics. If a younger sibling of a student in one of these classes registers, they will receive a 50% discount on that student’s tuition.

Drop-Ins:

Come and try a class! Requires pre-approval from the instructor and space will be limited based on class size.

Private Classes:

There will be limited time slots available for private classes. Payment for the private class must be paid in advance of when the class is given. All private classes missed will be billed to your account. Make-up classes will be offered by pre-approved appointment only. Seniors wishing to perform a Senior Spotlight in the annual recital must take a private class throughout the entire year.

Competition Classes:

There will be limited Competition Classes available. If you are interested in Competition Classes, please inform the studio at the time of registration. Rules and Regulations for Competition Classes will be distributed at the time class assignments are made. Additional fees will be incurred, which may include but are not limited to: costumes and accessories, travel, lodging, meals, parking, registration fees, videos, seminars, conventions, private instructions, competition events, etc. Parents are reminded that a current copy of your child’s birth certificate must be on file.

Make-Up Classes:

Classes are never canceled because of the weather. Make-up classes are available; however, if the weather becomes threatening.

Watch Week:

Watch week is during the first week of November, February, and May. All parents are invited to view their child’s performance. However, MDC reserves the right to dismiss those who disrupt any class at any time.

Lobby/Waiting Room:

A lobby and waiting room have been provided for your convenience. Drinks are permitted in the waiting room only. All children must be kept under supervision. Smoking is NOT permitted within the studio.

Scheduling:

Classes are subject to minimum sizes. MDC reserves the right to alter, add or cancel classes.
