Dear Families and Friends:
MCAS is here before us! Our FonsecaSchool Scholars in grades 3, 4, and 5 are well prepared to take the English Language Arts portion of the exam. As you speak to your child please offer them some encouraging words such as, “You can do it!” “Believe in yourself because I believe in you.” MCAS is an exam where our students have a chance to shine!
The February PTO Meeting took place on Wednesday, February 11th. There were over 15 parents in attendance. That was great and “THANK YOU!” to all the parents who attended. I am still challenging that at least 20 parents attend the next PTO Meeting on Wednesday, April 8th from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M.
Pancake Breakfast was a success. THANK YOU to all who participated and/or donated, volunteered their time to ensure a successful event for all.
Tomorrow is Wednesday and the FonsecaSchool will be collecting lunch money for next week. The prices are for four days: Lunch $6.60, Reduced lunch - $1.60, Milk - $1.00. Breakfast is free for everyone
Attendance Matters: As mentioned at Open House this year the Superintendent of Schools and the Mayor are teaming up to improve our student attendance across the Fall River School District. With that said, I want to share our September, October, November, December, and January student attendance.
The classroom with the best overall attendance for the week of March 16-20 was…Mrs. Burdick 95%
Dropping off students on Wall Street – Now that the snow has cleared parents please utilize the drop off parking area on Wall Street. This will allow traffic to move smoothly and more efficiently.
MCAS Testing is right around the corner for our grade 3, 4, and 5 students. The first portion of the MCAS Test is in English Language Arts and the test begins on March 26 and runs through April 15th.
The dates are as follows:
