Every year, the IMPACT Awards Gala allows the partners, colleagues, and supporters of the MHHC Foundation to gather and celebrate those at the vanguard of healthcare in the Bronx. Moreover, it gives the MHHC Foundation the opportunity to recognize and empower college-bound young people. Since 2011, the foundation has awarded IMPACT scholarships to distinguished high school graduates in order to ease the financial burden that college presents.

This year, the foundation awarded 27 IMPACT scholarships totaling $110,000. Not only were eighteen IMPACT scholarships awarded to college-bound high school seniors—the most the foundation has ever given—but also for the first time, the foundation awarded scholarships to past awardees. In addition, the foundation awarded a special scholarship to the Talented Unlimited High School to support its academic mission.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event was BronxNews 12 Anchor Eric Stelzter, and entertainment was provided by violinist Briana Perez-Lora along with other musicians from Talented Unlimited High School, as well as a by a band ensemble.
