2.2 / The MPSC Dinghy Sailing Championships will be held on Monday 11th July 2016.
3 / Rules
3.1 / The MPSC Dinghy Sailing Championships will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013-2016, the prescriptions of the RYA, appropriate Class Rules and the Sailing Instructions for the event.

Eligibility

4.1 / Competition shall be confined to members of Police Sport UK affiliated clubs who have been sworn in as paid constables, paid police support staff, paid cadets, retired police officers or retired members of police support staff, as defined in Rule 39 of the Police Sport UK Constitution. Additionally, serving or retired members of the three emergency services within the UK may enter the Open Event. Non Emergency Service family can take part in the Championships as crew.
4.2 / All craft entered in the MPSC Dinghy Sailing Championships shall be mono-hull dinghies or two man keel boats having an overall length not exceeding 22 feet and have a recognised Portsmouth Yardstick.
4.4 / All competitors must have completed an entry form for the event and paid the required fee before the preparatory signal for the first race of the series.

5.1 / The event designated category C in accordance with ISAF Reg. 20.
5 / Registration
5.1 / Competitors are encouraged to submit their entry form to the SBSC administrator by Friday 1st July 2016. This will allow us to approximate the fleet size for the purpose of safety cover.
It may be possible to accept an entry on the day, however this will be subject to the fleet size and therefore early entry is encouraged.
5.2 / Registration for the Championships is open from 1st February 2016.
5.3 / Every competing boat shall have a valid measurement certificate. The race committee may request production of this certificate for inspection upon registration or at any reasonable time during the Championships.
6 / Fees
6.1 / The entry fee for the MPSC Dinghy Sailing Championship is £17 for single handed dinghies and £25 for double handed boats.
7 / Racing Area and Sailing Programme
7.1 / Racing will be conducted on the Solent.
7.2 / Weather permitting, the MPSC Dinghy Championships will consist of 4 races.
Briefing 10:00. 1st Floor SBSC Clubhouse
Race 1: First warning not before 10.40hrs, races 2, 3 and 4 to follow as directed by the Race Officer.
8 / Scoring System
8.1 / The event shall be decided in accordance with RRS Appendix A Low Points System.
8.2 / If three races are completed one discard will be allowed. If less than three races are completed no discard will be allowed.

Sailing Instructions

9.1 / Sailing instructions (SI) will be emailed upon registration.

Insurance

10.1 / Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum of £2,000,000 Third Party liability.

Accommodation

11.1 / Competitors should research accommodation ‘On Line’ if required.
11.2 / Camping - There is no camping available at SBSC for this event.
12 / Administration
12.1 / Hot drinks and food are available from Pebbles Café and Bistro next door to SBSC.
Entry entitles competitors to day membership of SBSC and use of clubhouse facilities.
A large Pay & Display car- park adjoins SBSC.
