FACILITIES:

50 Meter x 25 Yard PoolWarm- up pool: 12 lanes x 25 yards running width wise, 4-5 Feet depths.

Competition pool: 8 lanes x 25 yards running length wise, Diving end.

6 Locker roomsLocker rooms will be assigned. (3 Boys & 3 Girls)

Deck SpaceDeck space will be limited. Bleachers will be assigned to each team.

SeatingSpectator seating is available above the pool deck.

ENTRY LIMITATIONS:A school may enter four or less contestants in each individual event.

Only three contestants from each team may participate.

The 4th contestant will be an alternate.

Alternates should have their entry times declared with the entry for possible seeding purposes with Hy-tek.

A school may enter one relay team per relay event.

Eight participants may be named to a relay team,

any four of whom may be used if eligible.

A contestant may enter three relays and two individual events but may only participate in a maximum of two relays and two individual events.

A contestant may enter and participate in three relays and one individual event.

ADMISSION:$5.00 for Thursday and Friday Diving. $8.00 Diving All-Session Pass.

$6.00 for Saturday – Admission will be charged for EACH SESSION.

Heat Sheets available for $2.

TEAM ADMISSION:

Participants & Staff Participating swimmers and divers will be admitted to the deck level of the pool upon arrival. Each will receive a hand stamp. Coaches, student managers and trainers should arrive at the same time as their team. School administrators will be admitted at the spectator level with a MIC pass or by signing in.

WARM-UPS AND COOL DOWNS

Continual lane space is available for warm-ups and cool downs during competition in the warm-up pool. Please have all swimmers stay off the bulkhead and no swimming under the bulkheads.

SCORING

IHSAA Championship scoring for a state finals meet (top 16) will be used.

AWARDS

A Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference trophy will be presented to the winning boys and girls teams. Ribbons will be presented to places one through eight. Medals will be awarded for all-conference selections at the MIC winter coaches’ banquet. The awards for each event will be presented on the deck at the awards stand. Please have your athletes present for each of these presentations.

SEEDING

This is a timed final event: please be accurate with your time.

DIVING SHEETS

Diving sheets are to be filled complete in every detail and signed by the diver and coach. Due to the 9.0 rule and the length of our diving sessions all diving sheets must be turned in by noon, Wednesday, January4th. Divers without sheets will be scratched. For better organization to prepare, changes maybe made to a sheet up until one hour before competition on Thursday, January 5th. Any changes should be forwarded to:

DIVING JUDGES

Due to the length of the diving sessions, we will use two panels of judges if possible. To do this eachteamwould have to have two judges available for the competition.

Panel A would judge rounds 1,2,3,6,7, and 8

Panel B would judge rounds 4,5,9,10, and 11

If not enough judges are available, the seven judges will score each dive: the highest two and lowest two awards are canceled. The three remaining scores will be added and multiplied by the degree of difficulty.

SCRATCH MEETING

During the diving scratch meeting, the following items will be discussed: declared scratches and diving judges. During the swimming meeting all scratches, changes and relay swimmers are to be announced. A meet committee will be selected at this time.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Each school must be responsible for their own valuables.
  • Each coach is responsible for the conduct of his or her team.
  • Only swimmers, coaches, managers and trainers will be allowed on the deck area. There are two men’s and two women’s locker rooms at the pool deck area.
  • No portable radios or tape players will be permitted in the locker rooms or on the deck.
  • A concession stand will be available in the upper level lobby.
  • The scratch meetings and coaches hospitality will be held in the hallway next to the diving boards.
  • Team busses should load and unload at the natatorium on the Northeast corner of the school. Busses should not use the turn-around drive. Busses should then park in the freshman center parking lot.
  • Parking for spectators will be located on the Northside, Westside, and Southside of the high school and the football stadium.
  • A training room and trainer will be available during the meet.
