Since its establishment in 1959, Mesa Verde Country Club has been a family-orientedclub that has taken great pride in promoting leisure and competitive sports activities and pleasant social interaction for its members, their families, and guests by providing outstanding golf, tennis, swim, social, and dining programs. Mesa Verde Country Club proudly features what has been called one of Southern California's most challenging championship golf courses. Combined with a complete tennis facility and heated pool, Mesa Verde is the essence of the country club experience. Centrally located in the heart of OrangeCounty, this prestigious private member-owned club is truly complete with a beautiful clubhouse offering excellent dining opportunities and an expansive banquet facility. Mesa Verde has been the site of more professional tour events than any other course in OrangeCounty. Winners of the five PGA tour events staged here include Billy Casper and "Champagne" Tony Lema who had his first PGA Tour win at MVCC. Nancy Lopez won two of the six LPGA tournaments. The club also hosted the inaugural Toshiba Senior Classic and the USGA Girls' Junior Amateur Championship. The membership of 600 families enjoys year round activities and strong junior golf and tennis programs at the club. The gross dollar volume of the club is $7.8 million dollars with food & beverage revenues of $2 million.

The successful candidate will be a proven businessperson with exceptional financial and budgeting skills that have yielded results. In particular, the candidate must enjoy and embrace the challenge of strong fiscal managementwhile at the same time, delivering the quality and range of service to enable the Club to continue to attract and retain members. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressively more responsible club management positions. The prospective general manager must be a charismatic, passionate professional and have outstanding membership relations and communication skills. The candidate must have a proven record of strong operational management skills and will have an impeccable career path ensuring the highest standards of operation and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have outstanding food and beverage experience and knowledge of all areas of club operations. The club is looking for a “visionary, take-charge type” person who understands trends in the private club industry and can help position the Club to successfully take advantage of these trends. The general manager will exhibit creativity in providing programs for the membership to enjoy and will take a sincere interest in member and guest satisfaction. The new general manager will enjoy inspiring department managers and employees and will demonstrate leadership skills in team building, employee motivation and especially service training. The ability to work well with the Board and Committees is essential. Membership retention and recruitment skills are considered essential. He/She will be confident, creative, enthusiastic, energetic, engaging and a highly visible manager to the staff and membership. Strategic planning skills, including marketing, are considered very valuable. The candidate will be active and well respected in his or her local and national CMAA organization. A college degree and the CCM designation are preferred.
