Position reports to: / Manager, Palliative Care
Position Purpose: / The Community Development worker will work within a community development framework with other service providers to ensure an integrated response to patient/family financial needs, demonstrated by clear and consistent referral pathways, protocols and joint local initiatives. The Community Development worker works in accordance of the mission, philosophy and policies of Mercy Palliative Care (MPC). The role of the incumbent is to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and respond to the psychosocial needs of the patient and family.
Qualifications: /
  • Tertiary qualifications in community development, health, social science or health policy
  • Experience in palliative care and/or community health is desirable
  • Computer skills
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Current driver’s license
