Clinton High School Junior/Senior Prom

•When: Saturday, April 9th from 8:30-11:30. No one will be admitted after 10:00.

•Where: Banquet Hall at Table 100. Table 100 is located off of Lakeland Drive next to Lowe's.

•Who: Prom is for CHS Juniors, CHS Seniors and their dates.

•Dress Code Information: Dress code is found on your class page on Canvas. All students attending prom MUST watch the Dress Code PowerPoint and sign the quiz stating that they did so.

•Tickets: On sale Tuesday, March 29 through Friday, April 1 during lunch in the commons. Tickets are $20, cash only. Tickets will not be sold late.

•Non-CHS dates: Forms can be found on your Canvas page. Make sure that you have all paperwork turned in to Ms. Stepp by the deadline stated on the form.

•If you have ANY questions, please see Ms. Stepp in Room W211.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.Nominations for Prom King and Queen are today! So, juniors and seniors, get those laptops out, go to your Canvas class page, and nominate. Nominations are only during homeroom TODAY!! Voting will take place at Prom.

2.Bruckner's will be taking formal pictures at prom. You may pick up a form outside Mrs. Stepp's room. Be sure to bring your form along with your money on the night of prom.

3.Those going to Convention need to come to the Mu Alpha Theta meeting next Tuesday, April 5th in the cafeteria.

4.NHS members: If you missed our monthly meeting on Thurs. March 24, you have until Wed April 6 to read and sign the minutes posted in W210 ( Darnell)

5.If you are taking the ACT on April 9, please be prepared for the test to last approximately 20 minutes longer than usual. ACT is testing out a new portion to the test. This added portion will NOT affect your score.

6.Clinton High Volleyball Tryouts will be held April 25 & 26 at CHS Gym from 4:30-7:00. All upcoming 9-12 grade girls interested in being a player need to pick up a tryout and consent form from the front office. You must have an up to date physical to be able to try out. If you are interested in being a manager for the team please pick up the manger and consent forms in the front office. If you have any questions please contact Coach Melissa Denson at

7.Students interested in auditioning for the 2016-2017 Arrow Players class will need to meet with Ms. Hankins on Thursday, March 31st during homeroom. If you are unable to attend, you will need to speak with her before Wednesday, April 7th.

8.Crown Club is a non- profit organization that provides training to high school girls in the area of community service and fund raising. Membership is open to upcoming 10th-12th grade girls who reside in the Clinton Public School District and who meet membership requirements. Deadline for applications is March 31st and can be obtained from the counselor’s office at Sumner Hill, CHS, and CCA.

9.Clinton's Top Talent will take place on April 15 and 16, 7:00 pm at Clinton Junior High. The competition is open to anyone living in the Clinton Public School District, grades 6-12. Registration forms are available from Mrs. Sparkman in the Lecture Hall or the Front Office. A $20 fee must accompany the registration form. Cash prizes of $100, $50 and $25 will be given in the lower and upper categories. For more information, contact Mr. Chris Young at Sumner Hill or Mrs. Sparkman at the High School.

10.BASIC SKILLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP: Any girls in grades 4th-10th who want to learn the basic skills of playingvolleyball, please come to ourvolleyballcamponSaturday, April 16from1:00-5:00 pm. The cost is only $40 which includes a t-shirt. You can pick up a form in the office at your school or inCoach Denson's room E214. The deadline to sign up forcampisTuesday, April 12. GUIDANCE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

If you are planning to take one of the AP exams in May, sign-ups begin on Monday. You can come before school, during Homeroom, or during lunch with your $15 deposit. Make sure to sign up before Friday, March 25th to reserve your spot!

Rotary Club of Jackson's Mentor Scholarship Program for 2016 applications are available in the counseling office. This is for a $16,000 scholarship. Stop by our office to find out what the requirements are today! Deadline to apply is Thursday, March 31, 2016.

Hinds Community College Art Department is offering partial and full tuition scholarships to freshman art majors. Please see Mrs. Collins or Mr. DiFatta to pick up an application or get more information.
