STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  1. Are you interested in a career in health care? If so, Health Science is a great class for you to take. Students in Health Science learn about health care careers, skills and information that is helpful in choosing a college major. Don't miss out. Sign up for Health Science during registration for the 2015-16 school year.
  2. Senior Announcements and Keepsakes will be delivered on Friday, April 10th during lunch. Any Student who has not paid-in-full must pay the balance on this date. If you are not going to be present, please make arrangements for someone to pay the balance and pick up your order. You received a personal letter showing your current balance.
  3. Auditions for this year's school play will be Monday after school from 3:45 to 4:30. To sign up, see the list outside Mr. Chapman's room.
  4. CPE applicants- If you are scheduled for a Career Pathway Experience interview Wednesday or Thursday please come 20 min BEFORE your scheduled interview time. Interviews are running early and we need to adjust the schedule.
  5. It's almost time! Prom is April 25th at the Mississippi Children's Museum. The theme is "A Night at the Museum" with doors opening at 8:30 and closing at 11:30. Tickets are cash only for $20 each. Tickets will be on sale April 6 - April 10 during lunch only. Non-CHS forms will be available beginning April 1. For more information, please refer to the flyers located outside each teachers' rooms or find them on the school website. Specific questions about dress code and anything else can be directed to Mrs. Tompkins-Stepp in Room W211.
  6. ALL Career Pathway Experience applicants should have their interview dates and times. If you did not receive a letter please come by C202 to get assigned a time.
  7. ANCHOR CLUB SERVICE CREDIT OPPORTUNITY: Donate items to CARA by Tuesday, March 31 (or you may make a $5 cash donation). A wish list is posted outside Mrs. Berry's classroom.
  8. Sophomores and Juniors: We are resurrecting the school newspaper in a whole new way. Starting next year, CHS will have its own web site where news, video, and podcasts can be found. All articles and media will be produced by students of CHS. If you are interested in signing up for next year's journalism class, pick up an interest letter and application in the counsellor's office or see Mr. Chapman in W-107.
  9. This week Mu Alpha Theta is hosting a fundraiser for Stewpot. Classes will be making donations in Coach Marett's room. The class that raises the least amount of money wins. So seniors make sure the sophomores and juniors have plenty of money in their respective containers. Our Clinton High School goal is $1,000. The competition will run from Monday through Friday.
  10. Mr. Chapman has forms for students to fill out and bring back to purchase a yearbook which are on sale for $70.00. They can either turn their money and form in to me or go online and purchase a yearbook at All information can be found on my School Wires account under “The Arrow.”
  11. Crown Club is a non-profit organization that provides training to high school girls in the areas of community service and fundraising. Crown Club supports many Junior Auxiliary of Clinton events such as Angel Tree, Cookies with Santa and the Eggstraspecial Easter Egg Hunt. Membership is open to upcoming 10th-12th grade girls who reside in the Clinton Public School district and who meet membership requirements. Deadline for application is March 26th from 6-7 PM at Northside Baptist Church. Questions can be directed to Amy Williamson, Crown Club Advisor at (601) 316-7301.

GUIDANCE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Scholarship packets are available in the Counselor's office for seniors. Each packet contains several scholarships.

Online Pre-Registration is available. For instructions on how to register, go the counselor's webpage under 2015 - 2016 Handbook. If you have any questions about your schedule go see your counselor.

If you have a parent employed by our transportation department (mechanic, driver, trainers, ect. stop by the counselor's office to pick up a copy of the Southeaster States Pupil Transportation Student Scholoarship/ Buster Bynum educational scholarship.

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women Scholarship is available in the Counselor's office. Please stop by and pick up a packet. The deadline is March 27th.

If you are interested in entering the Congressional Art Competition please see Ms. Lisenbe in the counselor's office.

The Clinton High School Alumni Association is offering two scholarship opportunities for Clinton High School Seniors. Please pick up an application in the Counselors' office.

Are you attending JSU in the fall? If you are interested in a STEM summer program stop by the counselor's career center to pick up an application.

2015The Rotary Club of Jackson Mentor Scholarship Program application is in the career center in the counselor's office. This scholarship program is a maximum $16,000 total grant, payable at up to $4,000 per year for four years. Pick up a flyer in the office to learn about the applicant eligibility requirements.

Tougaloo College will host the SLAM (Science, Language Arts, and Mathematics) Program for high school students. The SLAM program's goal is to help minority students have the necessary backgrounds to pursue health careers. Any sophomore or junior that is interested in this summer program can pick up an application packet in the Counselor's office. The deadline is March 27, 2015.

The James Doyle Case Memorial Scholarship Award will be rewarding 2 scholarships of $6,000 each to a student who is legally blind or the child of an individual who is legally blind. For more information about this scholarship, pick up a flyer in the career center in the counselor's office.
