  1. BAND UNIFORMS: Once again, we still have people leaving their hats & shoes (and gloves) in the band room……please always take everything home and keep all parts of your uniform together at all times. (Parents, if you could help with this it would be greatly appreciated.)
  1. PARENTS FEEL FREE TO CHEER LOUDLY!!!: Parents, feel free to cheer loudly for us at our remaining competitions. We definitely need your support and our band always performs better when we can see, hear, and feel that fantastic support from our OJR parent cheering section!
  1. BAND PARENT DINNER THANKS: Thanks to the OJR band parents for organizing some terrific dinners for all band members on competition days this fall. It’s nice to have a good meal together in our cafeteria between practicing on Saturdays and leaving for the cavalcades. Our band parents do a great job with this and special thanks to Mrs. Nancy Miller for organizing these meals for us!
  1. END OF THE SEASON COMING UP FAST: As we approach the end of this year’s marching band season, please keep a few things in mind: Keep your grades up (this is ALWAYS important), get as much rest as you can, come to practice with a good attitude and a high level of energy, and just do your best overall. Whatever happens, it’s been a great season already!
  1. NO PRACTICE CUTS THE WEEK BEFORE HERSHEY: A reminder that, per your band handbooks which you all agreed to and signed, NO CUTS ARE ALLOWED from practices during the last week of the competitive season (the week before the Hershey Championships). To be honest, it seems as though we’ve had quite a few folks missing practices this year. This is unfortunate because it is so difficult to clean and improve our show with people missing from practice. Please do your absolute best to be at rehearsals for the last few weeks of the season.
  1. PARENTS INVITED TO END OF PRACTICE – 11/10/10: All parents are invited and encouraged to come out to our final show run-through during rehearsal on 11/10/10 at 8:00pm. This has become a great OJR Band tradition over the years and is a nice way to send our band off to championships. Hope to see you there!
