In Memory of Lt. Colonel RICHARD FITZGERALD of the 2ndLife Guards, who fell in the XLIII year of his age in the field of Waterloo, and of GEORGIANA ISOBELLA SIMHA D’AGUILAR his widow, who died 11thDecember MDCCCXXL aged LXIII years. Her remains are deposited in the vault beneath.

Sacred to the dearly loved and honoured memory of LOUISA STEWARD HARCOURT, COUNTESSOF BEVERLEY, Daughter of the Hon. James Archibald Stuart Wortley Mackenzie; Wife of George Percy, Second Earl of Beverley, who became 5th Duke of Northumberland 17 years after her death. She was born 1779, died January 30th 1848 and is buried in the church in the vault of the Earls of Beverley.

Sacred to the memory of BENJAMIN BURTON ESQUIRE, of Pollerton in the County of Carlow and of Gloucester Place, Portman Square, second son of Sir Charles Burton, Bart. and Grandson of John, Lord Desert. Died January 3rd 1834, aged 43 Also

FRANCIS CONYNGHAM, fourth son of the above, who died December 7th 1837, aged 4 years 8 months.

To the memory of two brothers, the only sons of the late Stephen HAVEN Esquire and of Lydia, his wife. WILLIAM GORDON, departed this life on the 18th November 1809, aged 8 years 9 months.

CHARLES MACKINNON, died on the 14th April 1824 in the 21st year of his age.

In the family vault beneath this church are deposited the remains of EMMA CATHERINE BAMPFYLDE, only child of Sir George Warwick Bampfylde, Bart. And Dame Emma Penelope, his wife, who died on the 26th March 1825 aged 14 years.

In loving memory of SARAH MORTIMER, wife of Albert BARNES of York Terrace, Regents Park, who died 23rd August 1884. The gift of her husband.

To the memory of MRS ELIZABETH GERTRUDE BAYFIELD, wife of John Wolsey Bayfield, of the County of Norfolk, Gent. Who departed this life March 3rd 1832, aged 62 years. Her remains are interred in a vault under the church near this spot.

Sacred to the memory of JOHN MACCAMON ESQUIRE, late of Gloucester Place, in this Parish, who died on the XIII May MDCCCXVIII aged XLIX years. His mortal remains are interred in a vault beneath this church.

In loving memory of WILLIAM HENRY WHITE, M.A. M.D., Born 8th May 1849, died 22nd October 1926, also of SARAH ANNE his wife, born 17th June 1849 died 24th January 1926. Their remains lie in the crypt of this church.

To the memory of JAMES CRUIKSHANK ESQUIRE of Ballards Valley, St. Mary’s in the Island of Jamaica, and of Gloucester Place, Portman Square. He died 25th November 1831 aged 70 years.

Sacred also to the memory of MARY DANSEY, only daughter of James Cruikshank Esquire and Mary, his wife. The wife of George Cornwallis DANSEY, Major in His Majesty’s Royal Regiment of Artillery, who died 14th February 1830 aged 33 years.

Sacred to the memory of LETTICE, second daughter of the late Thomas PATTEN of Banks Hall, Esquire, and Dorothea his wife, daughter of the late Peter Bold Esquire, both in the County Palatine of Lancaster. The above LETTICE PATTEN died Dec. 21st 1817 and is interred in a vault in this church.

WALLACE HOWARD DAVIS, Lieutenant Sherwood Foresters,

Fell fighting in the Great War July 1st 1917. With affection and pride he is remembered by his colleagues and friends – the Masters in the St Marylebone Central School.

In a vault beneath this church lie the remains of EDWARD RAVENSCROFT ESQUIRE, of Portland Place, who died Aug. 19th 1828. Descended from an ancient family in Cheshire, Also in remembrance of EMMA relict of Edward Ravenscroft Esquire, who died at 12 Portland Place on the 7th August 1848 in the 84th year of her age. Her remains are interred in the east vault beneath this church.

In loving memory of JOHN BOYES who died 26th October 1884 in his 77th year.

19. Tablet

In the vault beneath are deposited the remains of SIR JOHN SEWELL, late of Cumberland Street in this Parish, and of Wick Hill House, Berks, Knight. Doctor of Civil Law of Pembroke College Oxford and of the College of Advocates, London. Judge of the Vice Admiralty Court of Malta from its establishment until the year 1815. A Deputy Lieutenant of Berkshire; One of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the same County and for Middlesex. F.R.S., and F.S.A. It pleased Providence to terminate his useful and honourable life on the 15th January 1833 in the 67th year of his age.

This monument is erected as a humble tribute of gratitude and respect to the memory of SIR JAMES SIBBALD, BART. Whose remains are deposited with those of ELIZABETH his wife, in a vault in Mary-le-bone Churchyard. He died beloved and esteemed by all who knew him on the 17th September 1819 in the 77th year of his age.

To the Glory of God and in memory of JOHN WHITE, Lieutenant Commandeer Royal Navy.

Killed in action on the 23rd October 1916 while in command of H.M.S.GENISTA. This tablet is erected by officers and men his former shipmates in H.M.S. AFRICA.

Sacred to the memory of WILLIAM AND MARTHA JOACHIM who were for many years residents in this Parish, and whose beloved remains repose beneath a tomb in the Burial Ground on the South Side of Paddington Street. Also

MARTHA JOACHIM, Spinster, daughter of the above, whose remains are deposited in the same tomb.

Erected by all Ranks of the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders in the memory of their Founder Sir ALAN CAMERON OF Erracht, K.C.B. who was buried in the graveyard of this church 1827.

This window is placed by John Ynyr Burges of Parkanaur in memory of his uncle SIR WILLIAM JOHNSTON, Bart, of Gilford, County Down and Bryanston Square, who rests in the vault below

Sacred to the memory of SOLOMON FRANCO ESQUIRE, who departed this life on 27th day of March 1825, aged 46 years and whose remains are deposited in a vault beneath this church. Also his wife, FRANCES FRANCO, who died in Paris on the 7th day of February 1845 aged 53 years. Also his sister, SARAH FRANCO, who died on the 6th August 1835 aged 66 years. Also FRANCIS FRANCO ESQUIRE, his relative, who died 1st February 1837, aged 83 years

Sacred to the memory of ELIZABETH MARY BOOTH, who departed this life on the 26th December 1820 aged 57 years.

In memory of MRS MARTHA UDNY, widow of Robert Udny, formerly of Teddington, Esquire. Sub-Governess of her late Royal Highness the Princess Charlotte of Wales. In the midst of jarring interests she secured the respect and affection of her Royal pupil and the approbation of His Majesty. She was born in 1761 and died 1st September 1831 aged 70 years, and lies interred in the vaults of this church.

Sacred to the memory of REBECCA PHIPPS, the beloved wife of HENRY MORETON-DYER ESQUIRE, of this Parish, who died on the 12th August 1830, and whose mortal remains are deposited in the family vault beneath this church.

In memory of HENRY OSCAR PALMER, eldest son of HENRY JAMES and HARIET MATILDAPALMER of this Parish. He died at Bloemfontein on the 27th May 1900 in the South Africa Campaign, aged 23 years.

In memory of the REVEREND ALEXANDER CROMBIE, LLD, FRS, of York Terrace, Regents Park and Pheado, Kincardineshire, who departed this life on the 11th day of June 1840, aged 78 years.

To the memory of RICHARD COSWAY ESQUIRE, Principal Painter to His Royal Highness, George, Prince of Wales. He died July 1821 aged 80 years. His widow Martha Cosway erects this memorial.

Sacred to the much respected memory of WILLIAM FAIRLIE ESQUIRE, formerly of Calcutta who departed this life on the 19th June 1825, aged 72 years, and also of MARGARET, wife of the above WILLIAM FAIRLIE ESQUIRE, who died 2nd March 1845, aged 64 years.

DAVID CLARK ESQUIRE, late of Calcutta, born 20th November 1779, died 18th June 1838. This tablet is erected by a few of his many friends to perpetuate the remembrance and liberal munificence displayed during a long residence in India, and by the desire of his relatives the name of his brother is also inscribed on the tablet.

To the memory of THE REVEREND DOCTOR JOHN VARDILL, obit Jan. 16th 1811 Aetat 60. Rector of Skirbeck and Fishtoft, Lincolnshire. First and Last Regius Professor of Divinity in King’s College, New York, where, like his distinguished ancestor Sir John Wardell of Wharfdale, he sacrificed his inheritance to public spirit which his vigorous genius diffused and his benign philanthropy ennobled.

Sacred to the memory of URBAN VIGORS ESQUIRE, Lieutenant General in the Honourable East India Company’s Service. He died April 10th 1815 aged 68 years.

Sacred to the memory of WILLIAM HUMPHREY, son of the Reverend William Green and Frances HUMPHREY, who departed this life 9th Feb. 1839 aged 82 years. His mortal remains are interred in St. Marylebone Burial Ground.

In a family vault beneath this church are interred the mortal remains of THOMAS WARRE ESQUIRE, who died on the 31stt July 1821 in the 73rd year of his age. This tablet is also sacred to the memory of ASHLEY GEORGE WARRE, third son of John Ashley and Florence Catherine WARRE, who died 3rd March 1893 in the 4th year of his age and is interred in the same vault.

Sacred to the memory of CLAUD RUSSELL ESQUIRE, formerly Member in the Government of Fort St. George in the East Indies. Died on 17th April 1820. He was born in Edinburgh 18th October 1733. His remains are deposited in a vault beneath this spot.

Sacred to the memore of LOUISA relict of GEORGE LITTLE ESQUIRE, of Amagh in the County of Longford, Ireland. Youngest daughter of the late William Hornby Esquire of the Hook, Hampshire and Portman Square, London, who departed this life on the 8th May 1834 aged 63.

Also to the memory of JOHN HORNBY LITTLE third son of the above who was taken from this world after much suffering on the 29th December 1829 aged 33 years.

To the memory of BENJAMIN OAKLEY Junior, son of Benjamin OAKLEY of Tavistock Square, who died 21st Nov. 1815 aged 17 years. He was interred in the church of Tooting Graveney in the county of Surrey, removed thence by a faculty from the Bishop of Winchester and deposited in the family vault beneath this monument on the 15th Feb. 1817. Also of

FANNY OAKLEY, who died on the 10th Feb. 1817 aged 11 years. Also of

BENJAMIN OAKLEY, father of the above, aged 77 years. Born at Weobley, Herefordshire and died in Sloane Street Apl. 19th 1844. Also of –

HANNAH MARCY ANN OAKLEY, relict of the above, who died Jan. 20th 1847, aged 73 years.

In memory of LIEUTENANT GENERAL JOHN GORDON, Hon. East India Company’s Service. Eldest son of the Hon. Colonel Gordon of Aboyne. Died 26th Dec. 1832, aged 62 years.

In this church was solemnised the marriage of ROBERT BROWNING AND ELIZABETH BARRETT 12th September 1846

The mortal remains of ISABEL wife of John HARDY Esquire, Member of Parliament for the Borough of Bradford, are deposited in a catacomb under this church. She died Jan. 11th 1834 aged 51, leaving her husband, 3 sons and 8 surviving daughters to lament the loss of a beloved wife and exemplary mother

Sacred to the memory of THE HONORABLE ELLEN MARY, the affectionate and beloved wife of Captain Edward Charles FLETCHER of the 1st Life Guards, and the youngest daughter of John Lord Teignmouth, who died a few days after giving birth to her third child, on 17th day of January 1835, aged 31 years. Her mortal remains are deposited beside those of her parents in a private vault beneath this church.

Also to the memory of THE REVEREND ROBERT ANDERSON, Born Apl. 29th 1792, died Mch 22nd 1843, aged 50. He married the Hon Caroline D. Shore, third daughter of John, Lord Teignmouth.

Sacred to the memory of COLONEL HUGH HENRY MITCHELL, Of the 51st Regiment of Foot. He was the son of Hugh Henry Mitchell Esquire of County of Cork. Married 3rd July 1804 Lady Hariet Isabella Elizabeth Somerset, daughter of the 5th Duke of Beaufort, and departed this life Apl. 20th 1817 in the 47th year of his age.

Sacred to the memory of JOHN LORD TEIGNMOUTH, President of the British and Foreign Bible Society from its formation to his death, a period of 30 years, and formerly Governor General of India, who died aged 82 years on the 1st Feb. 1834, and of his beloved and affectionate wife CHARLOTTE, LADY TEIGNMOUTH who died aged 73 years on the 13th July of the same year.

Their mortal remains are deposited in a private vault beneath this church.

Sacred also to the memory of their children who departed this life before them CAROLINE ISABELLA and EMILY, who died in their infancy 1793, and whose remains are buried under the church of OTTERY ST.MARY in the county of Devon, and of CAPTAIN THE HONOURABLE HENRY DUNDAS SHORE, formerly Lieutenant of His Majesty’s 4th Regiment of Dragoon Guards, who died in the South of France whither he had repaired for the restoration of his health shattered by an eastern climate, on the 28th April 1828 aged 26 years. A monument to his memory is erected over his grave in the Protestant Cemetery of Lourmarin in the Department of Vaucluse.

In a vault near this place are deposited the remains of CHARLOTTE COUNTESS OF BEAUCHAMP, only daughter of John, 1st Earl of Clonmell, who departed this life 26th April 1846 in the 58th year of her age.

JOHN REGINALD PINDAR, 3rd EARL OF BEAUCHAMP, husband of the above, born at Madresfield Court, Worcester, 22nd Nov. 1783, died 22nd Jan. 1853 in the 70th year of his age.

Near this place are deposited the remains of MARGARET, COUNTESS OF CLONMELL, relict of John, Earl of Clonmell, Lord Chief Justice of Ireland. She expired on the 5th day of November in the year of our Lord 1829, in the 67th year of her age.

Sacred to the memory of ROBERT POWNEY ESQUIRE, who departed this life 15th Oct. 1817 aged 62 years. His remains are deposited in a vault beneath.

In memory of WILLIAM DOUGLAS MORRISON, Rector of St. Marylebone 1908-1942. Died 13th Dec. 1943 and his dearly loved wife ALICE MORRISON, died 4th May 1957

Sacred to the memory of JOHN BEBB ESQUIRE, of Gloucester Place, Portman Square, and Donnington Grove, Berkshire, who died 27th Sept. 1830 in the 76th year of his age. Near this he rests. Also of JANET LAURENCE BEBB, widow of the above, who died 7th April 1850, in the 85th year of her age.

Sacred to the memory of JOSEPH FERNANDEZ MADRID, Envoy Extraordinary and minister Plenipotentiary from the republic of Colombia to his Britannic Majesty. Born Feb. 21st 1789 died June 28th 1830

Underneath are deposited the remains of MAJOR ARTHUR BALFOUR, Born at Balingry in Fifeshire 1752, dd 14th Nov. 1817. At a very early age he entered in the service of the East India Company in Bengal. Highly respected and beloved by all who knew him he left this world most sincerely lamented by his relations and numerous friends.

In loving memory of Lieutenant GERALD DAVID LOMAX, 3rd Welch Regiment, who was mortally wounded on May 9th 1915 when fighting for his country at Fromelles with the 2nd Berkshire Regiment. He died on May 10th on a Hospital barge on the Lys and lies buried in the cemetery at Eszaires.

In loving memory of PETER FRANCIS NAPIER LOMAX, Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force. Killed on active service on 24th February 1940 at the age of 19 years.

Sacred to the memory of CLEMENTINA, wife of Vice Admiral Sir Pulteney MALCOLM, C.B. and daughter of the Hon. William Fullerton Elphinstone. Born 14th April 1775, died 19th Nov. 1830
