MEMORANDUM FOR: SWR COMMANDER
SUBJECT: SWR Director of Recruiting and Retention Position Opening
TO: SWR Senior Members
The Southwest Region Headquarters is looking for an active and enthusiastic Director of Recruiting and Retention. The position is now open and we will review applications for the position. Please email your CAP resume to the CS for the SWR/HQ at . The objectives and goals are listed below.
SOUTHWEST REGION Director of RECRUITING AND RETENTION
The SWR Director of Recruiting and Retention will support and manage the overall objective of the Southwest Region (SWR) Recruiting and Retention (R&R) Plan to help the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) reverse its trend of declining membership through bolstered R&R. This will facilitate the long-term growth and health of CAP’s membership.
1) Quarterly reports to the SWR/CC and Chief of Staff on specific goal achievement and successes.
2) Manage SWR R&R working group (Wing counterparts) that collaborates frequently to identify and share best practices, with monthly teleconferences, moving each wing and the SWR forward in meeting their R&R goals.
3) SWR/R&R collaborates with SWR/AE, CP, ES directors and SWR Marketing and PA Director for mission-specific initiatives and resources that can help R&R across the SWR.
4) Will work with the SWR/DR of Marketing and PA for a time phased plan for recruiting.
5) Quarterly reports to the CS and SWR/CC on updates and activates.
6) CAP membership in good standing, marketing/public relations skills would be preferable.
As per CAPP 226 the recruiting and Retention Officer should be able ‘to attract individuals to Civil Air Patrol, its missions, objectives and personnel in a professional manner as it relates to and under the guidance of NHQ CAP/LMM. To act as primary consultant to the region commander on Civil Air Patrol recruiting and retention matters. To be able to develop, manage, and implement a solid program for the SWR Region. Become a leader and mentor for other members within Civil Air Patrol by demonstrating knowledge, professionalism, and performance. Encourage others to pursue the recruiting and retention officer specialty track”.
