Use of writing implements. / Sharing information texts about planets; nocturnal & diurnal animals; planning their favourite bedroom.

14/11/16 / Pick a Star – Children pick a star and carryout that job for tidy up time in the class. Share the story ‘Owl babies’ discuss how they would feel if they were those babies.
Play together using the small world and doll’s house. / Share the story ‘How to catch a star’ by Oliver Jeffers – discuss the items in the story. Recap on people who work at night; which job would they like to do? Talk about bedtime routines and related vocabulary. / Bed time challenges – Can they put on button up pyjamas; get into aonesie; put slippers on the correct feet; brush their teeth; wash their face? – Race against the clock. Discuss the importance of hygiene. / Share the painting ‘I and the village’ by Marc Chagall; what can they see in the painting – write a list or draw a picture with a caption.

Shape – see UTW / Use the 2simple software paint program to create stars and moons – resize them and change the colours – paint a picture for a display. / Wednesday

See Creative Development / Discuss the difference between day and night; why we sleep and recap on the importance of sleep. Look a t footage of nocturnal animals – try to set up a night vision camera to see which animals visit our school at night. / Wednesday
