Dear Ms. Taylor-Presley:
The Institution of Higher Education Consortium (IHE) provides an opportunity for all local universities to meet
with representatives of the Los Angeles Unified School District on a regular basis for the purpose of information gathering and articulation. Leadership from the four local Urban Teacher Residency (UTR) Programs will continue to be part of our meetings. Our next IHE/UTR consortium meeting of the 2011-2012 school year is scheduled for Thursday, September 22, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the district offices of the Los Angeles Unified School District, 333 South Beaudry Avenue, Los Angeles, 90017, on the Second floor in Room 202.
Visitor parking for LAUSD is located in the Visconti Apartment Garage located at 1221 West 3rd Street (immediately northwest of the Headquarters building). Enter through the eastern-most entrance on Miramar, just west of Boylston. Please refer to the enclosed map for directions. Parking will be validated.
The agenda for our next meeting will include a discussion focused on investing in teacher and administrator quality. The first portion of the meeting (9:30-10:30 a.m.) will focus on teacher development through the lens of our Urban Teacher Residency Programs. The later portion (10:45-12:00) will address administrator development and critical human resources updates. Please note that our agenda belongs to the group. Items of interest and critical topics are always appreciated. If there is an item you would like to add to our agenda, please feel free to call me. We will continue to set agenda items that are relevant to our discussions.
We encourage you to make every effort to attend this meeting. We look forward to continuing our open lines of communication and networking. If you are unable to attend, we hope you will send a representative. Please contact Donald Hafeman at (213) 241-6608 to RSVP for this meeting or to name your new university contact. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call the number indicated above.
We look forward to seeing you on September 22, 2011.
Sincerely,
Gina Smith-DeVille
