2012 Transit of Venus
John Westfall will present some extraordinary amateur and professional images of the transit of Venus on June 5-6, 2012, taken from earth-based telescopes and space-based telescopes. John will discuss transit-related activities and public outreach programs that occurred during the event. He will also talk about world visibility zones and weather conditions during the transit, with a summary of the resulting acquisition of scientific knowledge.
EAS Star Parties at Chouinard Vineyards
Barry Leska will share recent stories, photos, and some facts regarding EAS star parties at the Chouinard Vineyards and Winery in Castro Valley, CA.
2012 Golden State Star Party
Richard Ozer will share some stories, photos, and facts regarding social and astronomical events during the recent 2012 Golden State Star Party (GSSP) at the Frosty Acres Ranch, near Adin, CA.
