Meeting was called to order by Dan Snipes at 7:15 p.m.

Kristy Kawash read the minutes from February’s meeting.

Jeff Moczulski inquired about using background checks from baseball to save money for the LJC organization. Dan will check with Jason Kelly to check the criteria

Old Business:

Equipment returns for cheer that are still outstanding: Grzybowski, Heath, Yadlosky (2 uniforms B & D teams), and Blank. Danielle will provide Dan with addresses

Pete Kawash handed in an inventory spreadsheet of Jersey’s with sizes, numbers, and condition

Bill Novak, Tony Spataro, and Jason Kelly ripped guts out of old helmets. Tony is bringing approx. 20 helmets to sell at registration

Shelves are ready for new helmets

Helmets need to be picked up from Battaglia’s. Need to know when bill is due-needed to be paid by a certain date.

A list is needed to know what rib pads, belts, and socks are needed.

Here is a list of items that is needed to be ordered:

Discussed cost of the cheer uniforms

Cheer fittings for A and B Squad is Saturday April 28th from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. The C and D squads fitting is Saturday, May 5th from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Cheer uniforms need to be cleaned (will see Dom) ; uniforms are coming back dirty and in poor condition

May need to replace cheer windpants- last years cost was $18 for pants; windjackets were $22. Will look into having the windpants cleaned and altered before making a decision to purchase new ones

ACC Report-Football

Seven teams in conference

Bottom team doesn’t make playoffs; playoff team will be based off winning percentage

North Pocono will revisit for second team next year

For preseason games rosters will need to be turned in to do weigh-in’s

ACC Report-Cheerleading

Need fees to be handed in when books are handed in or we will receive a $250 organization fine

Next ACC meeting is 4/22/12-There will be 2 or 3 cheer reps to attend meeting at Beneco’s at 12 p.m. Need football reps to attend meeting at 1:00 p.m.

Patti Mussari will be taking T-shirt orders and payments at registration-cost per T is $10

In need of 20-30 Volunteers for the Applebee’s Pancake Breakfast on May 19th- 8a.m.-10 a.m.

New Business

Dan wants to order belts, socks, mouthpieces now to have for start of practices

Registration is Saturday, March 24 at 10 a.m.; be there for 9:30 a.m. for set up; a rep for every team will need to be there; will have tables set up for Registration and money collection, concession stand set up, and then each team

Danielle Thomas suggested having a master sheet of the concession stand schedule sent out at the start of practices so parents have enough notice for a reminder

Pete Kawash suggested putting previous months meetings on website after the approval of the minutes.

Facebook/Website Update-will put info about shirts; Dan will send email about T’s, sign ups, Applebee’s, and helmets

Bylaws:

The proposed change for Article 14 Section 1:

All members must work the concession stand for up to 2 home games. If a member is unable to work, they may find a replacement to work the game. All members must participate in all mandatory fundraisers sponsored by the Lakeland Jr. Chiefs. Failure to work the concession stand as assigned or to complete all mandatory fundraiser will result in a suspension from the next scheduled game/competition for their child.

The approved change for Article 14 Section 1 is:

All members must work the concession stand for up to 2 home games per participant. If a member is unable to work, they may find a replacement to work the game. All members must participate in all mandatory fundraisers sponsored by the Lakeland Jr. Chiefs. Failure to work the concession stand as assigned or to complete all mandatory fundraiser will result in a suspension from the next scheduled game/competition for their scheduled child.

A vote of 12-0 to change the above bylaw

Reviewed Article 4 Section 6-Concerns the attendance of Coaches at the monthly meetings. There is a minimum of 2 meetings. Dan Snipes notifies all head coaches of this requirement and then it is up to the head coach to inform his assistant coaches of this requirement. This will be enforced from now on and the head coach will start taking attendance his/her coaches

If there are no further changes to the bylaws they will be closed at the next meeting

Discussion for the number of times a coach should work in concession stand-after discussions it was agreed they need to work one game

Background checks-

Dan will hand forms to head coaches and they will get it to the assistant coaches-Cost is approx.. $8 per check. All coaches need to hand in a form to Dan ASAP

On the game schedule there is a bye week-Dan may contact another team to see if they want to have a scrimmage on that week
