Grant has completed booklet on Geographical Literacy for AGTA. Includes visual literacy, written, oral text, debates, oral presentations, social media.
Possibly available April/ May through AGTA.
Other proposals, ‘Assessment in Geography’ ,’Senior Curriculum’.
Constitution: May need to revisit, changes may expected in light of legislative changes.
Have a copy of Legal Studies 2016 Constitution as a guide.
Open invitation for volunteer to work with Lorraine on this.

- Life memberships: citations. Who is eligible, (Grant, Susan B, Nick, Barbara H, Paul, Martin, Elizabeth Riley, Keith?), what criteria? (length of time, roles?). What benefits? Google suggests three criteria.
Need information from Grant, Nick, Susan B, and Barbara on their involvement with GTA.
Other Awards are being compiled and up dated on website.
Life Members, Geoff Connolly Award recipients being presented on Thursday and Friday at Annual Conference.
Primary teacher member of council: Names to Lorraine.
Suggestions Amanda Burrows (Islington Public- Cath), Juliann Sheridan (Sharon).
Webinars for website: Need to increase our on- line presence. See Sharon’s handout about suggestions. Louise and Grant have done webinars. Shreela at PTC may be able to set it up for us. Usually has set time frame/ interaction. Use Dobie Connect (Louise). Accredited hours. Will improve our connection with regional teachers. Possibly run for one year as a free trial. Look at membership to include webinars? Do we need a personal membership? Corporate V’s personal benefits.
Signatories noted in AGM minutes. Current signatories are Grant Kleeman and Nick Hutchinson.
New Banners. Louise is working with Vista Print and Snap Printing. Need to redesign, circulate and get feedback. Would be good if ready for the Annual Conference.
Skills Workshops February: February too early. Move to late March. AGTA Roadshow is March then have skills workshops later at maybe Parramatta and Pott’s Point. Two regional ones later again. Grant, Lorraine and Sharon to plan.

State Schools Require a Request of Service on GTA letterhead to pay invoices. Need to put system into place. Mai Mai needs form. Purchase Order form needed by some schools. / Lorraine to investigate
Report from AGTA / Grant
Lorraine and Susan / Profit just under $20 for Geography Skills Unlocked. $10 per book to AGTA, $10 to GTA. Will become $20 per book to GTA when costs recouped.
AGTA Conference still open.
Trish Douglas is the new AGTA President.
Our representatives are Grant (Immediate Past President), Lorraine (President NSWGTA) Susan C (Secretary).
Report: Annual Conference / Lorraine Chaffer / Program to date: Yellow sections are confirmed, light lilac is Primary with 2 options in each time slot. Thursday is Primary and Stage 4.
There will be abstracts for each workshop in the Conference Program.
Flyers: There will be a general flyer about the conference. Conference has been accredited.
Separate flyer for HSC Review (also accredited).
Sponsors: Urban Growth (Nicole Campbell) $12,000 Platinum Sponsorship, Possible Greater Sydney Commission $2000 Sponsorship. Will have logos on bags, in bulletins and resources for both Primary and Secondary.
They have a keynote and one workshop each day
Also Murray Darling Basin – two country teacher sponsorships of $1000 each for registration, accommodation and some travel expenses.
Allocation of councillor roles: See draft Conference Program.
Cath will be in charge of exhibitor tables.
Program &registration: Each participant to get Geography Skills Unlocked. Included in cost of Conference. Sponsorship may help subsidise this.
GTA Sponsorship / Bursary was discussed. Suggestion to assist some schools cover the cost of the Conference to their schools. Schools need to apply through an expression of interest style process. Target country schools, pay rego for two days and successful recipients write a Bulletin article. / Lorraine to develop Flyers

Marking Fieldwork Friday 20th Jan at PTC. Not a lot of entries, some digital.
Need to add Elective Geography into the flyer for 2017
Accreditation & flyers: Review speakers are organised, 2 for each question. Flyer to come. Cost of HSC Review discussed. Agreed $20 per head if not attending Conference.
There will be a registration for all as it is accredited.
Ask PTC to bill us only once for accreditation. / Lorraine to confirm number of entries. Lorraine recommended adjusting AP Award Entry Form.
Update: Geography Bulletin / Lorraine / Edition 4: ED 4 is with Rob Berry, out soon. Includes China, fieldwork, 2011 links with current syllabus.
HSC Edition: Hopefully 2 editions. Needs some Preliminary articles.
Grant to write a one page article on Hints for writing an article for a Bulletin.

Codes for teaching Geography: Currently there is only one code for teaching Geography (Y7-12). Needs to be two separate codes, Geography 7-10 and Geography 11-12. Suggestion that a submission go to the Director of Secondary Education on behalf of GTA to remedy this.
Notification: Sustainability Conference Mt St Benedict: Social Justice Conference/ Sustainability needs presenters. If interested contact Lorraine. Possibly June.
