5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
5.1 Approve Beta Mu Mu's regular minutes for the meeting held on September 9th, 2011.
Victoria Birdseye moved to approve the minutes, all in favor, motion passed.
6. CONSENT / ACTION AGENDA
6.1 Approve purchase of a camera for the Beta Mu Mu chapter use.
Victoria Birdseye moved to discuss item 6.1, all in favor, motion passed.
Xochilt Gibson moved to approve the purchase of a digital cameraand
accessoriesin an amount not to exceed $150. Motion passed. Roxanne Reyes appointed Brenda to research cameras and report back next week.
7. DISCUSSION / ACTION AGENDA
7.1 Books for Africa
Wednesday @ 1 was set to meet up and box books.
7.2 Regional and National Conference
Discussed the need for fundraising and a possible essay/service contest to receive scholarship. Scholarship available from National to send one member and one advisor to the conference.
7.3 Induction ceremony date
Discussion was tabled.
7.4 One time volunteer opportunities
Roxanne Reyes discussed and shared interest to participate in volunteer opportunities.
7.5 Leadership Development Program
Professor Ron Marley came and discussed a 40 hour leadership program. Victoria Birdseye moved to form an ad hoc committee of 3 appointed by the chair to report back in 2 weeks, to plan the leadership program possibly, all in favor, motion passed.
7.6 Discuss Five Star Program
Roxanne strongly encouraged members to look into the Phi Theta Kappa website and come up with ideas to help strengthen the chapter.
8. ANNOUNCEMENTS
8.1 Officer workshop is tomorrow the 17th @ 2.
8.2 Fundraising event during the football game tomorrow the 17th set up begins at 4pm.
