Call to Order: Dan Bergerson at 7:30 pm

OLD BUSINESS:

  1. Sponsorship memeberships:
  • The items that I got donated come to well over $3000

If the Association gives memberships for each $500 that would mean 6 memberships! I don 't need 6 but can Tony get 1, since $1000 worth wasgiven tothe 40 and Over guys.Then can I give one to my nephew and then one to me (Request by Carm Schneider)

Tabled for next meeting to see what cash $ was brought in. Also, next meeting we will write a rule to make this more understandable.

2.2008 Rodeo of the Year:

  • Board Voted for Glenwood
  • Plaque to be ordered and awarded

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Horse Expo Booth
  • April 24, 25, 26th
  • People to man the booth: Queen Racheal Peterson, Secretary Heidi Gunderson
  • Powerpoint to project at booth from 2008 Final
  • To get banner made with new logo
  • Drawing for free membership
  • Rita Hamilton and Rachael Peterson to gather people to work at the booth.
  • Raffle Tickets to be sold. Corey to look into checking out what a ½ a beef would cost.
  • Pamphet: history, finals dates, rodeo schedule, officers
  • Mike and Toby to work on Sponsors at the expo.
  • Candy, tootsie rolls
  • Mike has lots of equipment to be used for our booth.
  • No cars to pickup/drop-off equipment after 9 am.
  • Wristbands for workers
  • Get someone’s champion saddles to display.
  1. Money owed to Pleasant Hills from Steer Wrestling account
  • $250 owed, 2 breastcollars bought and not payed for.
  • Christine made a motion to pay the $250 owed to Pleasant Hills to cover account. Heidi Gunderson second the motion. David Slipka 2nd the motion. Board voted and motion passed.
  • Mike Grinager made a motion to add $250 to the Steer Wrestling account. Ryan Harrison second the motion. Board voted and motion passed.
  • Need Pleasant Hills to send the MRA a itemized bill of this transaction.
  • Dan Bergerson to call Ken Davis to talk about this situation.
  1. 2009 Rodeo Season:
  • ??? Number of rodeos for next year
  • Dan to call stock contractors to see what the outlook is for next year.
  • Dan to contact ND contractors to see if they will co-sanction rodeos over the border.
  1. DeeDee Herbst request for membership mailing list:
  • David Slipka made a motion to not disclose our mailing list because of legal issues. Mike Grinager second the motion.

Memberships valid date is the post marked date of the envelope which contains the full payment of the membership fee (including outstanding fines) and a signed application. Applications received that do not include the full amount of dues ( including any late fees or fines) will not be accepted. Members with late fees or outstanding fines not paid will be considered NOT in good standing with the Minnesota Rodeo Association. Membership Card will not be send to applicant until all fees and fines are paid in full.

#7: In order for points to count towards the MRA year end and Finals rodeo the member must be in good standing with the Association. All fines, fees, and signed applications must be post marked before the entry date of the MRA Rodeo wishing to compete.

(pg. 11 #8): To compete at Finals contestant must enter and compete at a minimum of 3 first sanctioned MRA rodeos.

ADD: In order for a rodeo to count as one of the contested MRA first sanctioned rodeos, the contestant card must be purchased before competing at that rodeo. (See rule page 11 #8 regarding points to count.)
