8:32WG Vice-chair called the marketing committee meeting to order, Ian Gifford was standing in for Bruce Kraemer (who couldn’t attend this meeting)

8:35Agenda review (IEEE802.15 99/163r0)

Motion to approve the agenda made T Cooklev, seconded by Rick Alfvin following no discussion, motion passed

8:41(IEEE 802.15-00/004r0)

Action item: need a doc number to capture T Siep’s 8 Dec presentation at the Bluetooth developer’s conference in LA. Action Item: I Gifford to submit his TG1 update to BT SIG. Action Item: Generate a draft article for “Signal” (BT newsletter): assigned to Todor Cooklev. Action Item: Article for Incisor, assigned to I Gifford. Action Item: I Gifford to add MMAC to Standard Development Organizations (uprev to r1).

ETSI-BRAN liaison status. I Gifford doesn’t believe that the MC could do anything more with ETSI. Comment: could TG1 test specs be handed off to ETSI? Action Item: Ian Gifford and Kevin Marquess to explore ETSI interest in this matter.

Branding: WPAN and Wireless Personnel Area Network have been submitted to IEEE legal. URLs: B Heile is working with Jerome Walker on this matter.

TG1 Standard Publication: Given that the IEEE depends upon the funds from standards publishing there still could be an issue with Bluetooth’s spec, since BT has this document freely available. Maybe give text away but sell the SDL model? Action Item: Does the IEEE press want to publish a pocket guide for the WPAN/BT V1.0B? Mike McInnis to take lead (T Cooklev also interested).

Agenda for tomorrow needs to address support activities for TG2 and HR SG.
