PRELIMINARY:
The meeting started with a prayer at about 2:30in the afternoon at 2nd level conference room of DSWD Field Office 10, Masterson Avenue, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. Assistant Regional Director Aldersey M. Dela Cruz of DSWD Field Office 10 presided over the meeting.Each participant gave a brief introduction of themselves. ARD dela Cruz emphasized that the priority concern to be addressed in the meeting is the relocation of survivors in the EvacuationCenter inside the school for temporary shelter since classes will resume by January 3, 2011.
UPDATES FROM THE MEMBERS:
- MINES and GEO-SCIENCE BUREAU (MGB)
Proposed Relocation Sites Inspected for Typhoon “Sendong” Survivors as of December 26, 2011
- The 9.4 has in Calaanan, Cagayan de Oro City identified as relocation site owned by the LGU of Cagayan de Oro City. Findings were area is along Calaanan Creek and structural engineering development as mitigating measures is required.
- Alternative areas identified for relocation were Sitio Culagao, Bryg. Pagatpat and
Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City.Findngs were in Sitio Culagao, Pagatpat landslide scars were visible on the area while in Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City still for MGB-DENR recommendation or study.
- CDOCITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (CPDO)
The 9.4 has in Calaanan, Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City owned by the City Government already intended for the relocation of the survivors of Typhoon Sendong. Land preparation is on going with the consideration of roads facility, water supply and mitigating measures.

-Pertinent data for Cagayan de Oro City were as follows:

- NHA
A 5.6 has of land in Calaanan, Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City which is part of the NHA Phase 2 Development was already given to the City Government for the relocation of the survivors of Typhoon Sendong. Out of the 5. 6 has there is a 3.5 has vacant which could be used for the relocation of survivors of Typhoon Sendong. The area has complete Technical Plan as to land development without the provision for housing structure and ready for implementation.
AREAS OF CONCERNS RAISED DURING THE MEETING:
AREAS OF CONCERN / RECOMMENDATION/REMARKSRELOCATION SITE / Identified relocation site for temporary shelter:
1). 3.5 has in Calaanan owned by the City Government.
2.) 5 has in Lumbia donated by XavierUniversity
TENTS/ BUNKHOUSES / -Shelter Box committed to donate 409 Tents. The 349 Tents will be given to CDO and the 60 remaining Tents will be given to IliganCity. The Tents will arrive on Thursday, December 29, 2011.
- DSWD has 12 bunkhouses materials ready to be installed and tents for temporary shelter.
- It was suggested that in the installation of bunkhouses and tents, it must include the provision of latrines, kitchen, and wash area.
- It was also suggested by Dep-Ed and UNICEF that in the installation of tents and bunkhouses to have a space for temporary school or learning centers for children.
The group was divided in two Technical Working Group for a planning session,one group for Lumbia relocation site and one group for Calaanan relocation site. Each group was given 30 minutes to discuss and plan.
AGREEMENT REACHED BY THE TWO TWG:
LUMBIA RELOCATION SITE / The following were consider for the installation of temporary shelter:- 5 has lot in Lumbia
- 12 bunkhouses and tents from
DSWD Field Office 10.
- 1,166 Families
It was set tomorrow, December 28, 2011 @ 8am for the site visit and assessment in the area. Meeting place for the group will be at DSWD Field Office 10. MGB is requested to join with the group in the site visit and assessment.
The group will meet everyday at 2PM at Xavier University Gym.
CALAANAN RELOCATION SITE / The following were consider for the installation of temporary shelter:
- 3.5 has lot in Calaanan
- 349 Tents from Shelter Box
- 1,272Families
- Development Plan from NHA
It was set tomorrow, December 28, 2011 @ 8am to start the initial preparation and construction for the temporary shelter including the putting up of tents, toilets and temporary school building.
50 Tents per day will be installed and the target date to finish the installation of tents will be on December 30, 2011.
Identified needs during the construction were: Food Items
Water Container
Cooking Utensils
DSWD will provide the final listing of the Families including the number of children, women, men, senior citizen and PWDs.
Additional tents for the relocation areas which could not be accommodated in the temporary shelter being identified has to be source out from donations and various sources.
Next meeting will be on December 29, 2011 at 2:00 in the afternoon at DSWD Field Office 10.
There being no other matter to be discussed the meeting adjourned at5:00 in the afternoon.
