  1. Treasurer’s Report

DS Tabled his report.

-Cash at bank: $19,024.78. This includes the DCY Community Grant funds of $2,592.00 received on the 26th January 2019.
-DS stated that the unpresented cheque for $260.00 was for Leonard’s Mill catering for 2017 AGM. This was returned to the SVPA as a donation.
-There was no change to membership.

DCY Community Grants

DO informed the meeting that the SVPA had been successful in procuring 3 DCY Community Grants

- Market Umbrellas: $258.00 ($129 DCY/$129 SVPA). AW reported that two red market umbrellas and stands had been ordered through Bunnings. They could also be hired out to the community. Action: AW to pick up.

- Heritage Trail Rest Stop: $2,215 (DCY $703/ SVPA $1,513) JS to order new benches. Action: JS/SS to organise site visit with Council to discuss positioning, installation and landscaping.

- Playground Stage 1: $7,900 (DCY $ 1,760/ SVPA $6,140) DO read update from JS. JS to commence discussions with consultant and DCY re log tables and seating. GO offered timber. Action: JS to follow up at April meeting.

GP enquired if grants required expenditure in calendar or financial year. DO stated that it is calendar year. Acquittal forms for funds to be populated and submitted to Council with required documentation when projects completed/purchased. Action: DO/AW/SS/JS

- Jaitjakawengga Site Visit: Saturday 16th February at 12 noon. Free sausage sizzle provided by SVPA to discuss immediate and long term projects for the reserve. Letter drop to local residents on adjoining streets. DO to bring Muzzie’s BBQ. AW to send email to membership and create Facebook event. Action: DO/AW

- Flag Pole at War Memorial: Graham Olsson, Greg Monssen and Graham Smith donated all materials and supplies and GM manufactured pole in his workshop. A wonderful community effort by these 3 gentlemen. Action: DO to deliver a letter of thanks from SVPA and bottle of wine to GM home.

- ANZAC Day service: GO spoke to this item. With the extent of work that has been done to the monument area, a dawn service is planned for 2019. It was suggested that local member Rebekha Sharkie be invited as she gifted the SVPA the Australian flag which will fly on the monument flagpole. The flag had previously flown at Parliament House, Canberra. Action: GO to provide Order of Service and book hall. Action: SS to prepare an article for the Yankalilla Regional News April issue. Action: AW to prepare Facebook event. Action: GO/JO to organise music. Action: Catering to be provided after event (Tea /coffee and Anzac biscuits AW/JO/SVPA members

- Quiz Night: JO spoke to this item. A call for members to form a sub-committee/working party was requested. A date in August to be advised. GP agreed to be Quizmaster. Sub-committee members are Jane Olsson, Grant Pember, Ron King, Robert Wallis, Amanda Wallis, David Olsson and Peta Kruse. More members welcome to join to assist. Contact Jane Olsson:

- Sandcastle Competition: DO gave an update on the 2019 event run by Jack & Linda Russell. DO waiting for a report from Jack & Linda Russell as to whether they wish to be involved with the event moving forward. This would determine the level of involvement, if any by the SVPA. Action: DO to table report for April agenda.

- Delamere Heritage Project: DCY and Delamere resident sub-committee to work on project for flagpole and stone cairn. DO has offered advice and will update at April meeting.

- Easter Market & Trash n Treasure: AW spoke to this item. There will be an SVPA table where members can donate goods for sale with proceeds to the SVPA. Call for volunteers to man table will be sent out as well as call for volunteers for Sausage sizzle and Vegetable table. Action: Enquiries to AW

- Faded plaques: SS and DO to do audit of faded plaques on walking trail. DO stated that Photomechanical Products are investigating the batch of plaques as not all have faded. Batch manufactured in February 2016. It was suggested that a new plaque be commissioned depicting an image and text re: Henry Jones Cottage. Action: DO/SS to update at April meeting.

- SV Hall DCY Management Process: MD spoke to this issue. He advised the meeting that we are awaiting the DCY to advise the next step in their process. In the meantime, informal discussions planned for the 21st January 2019 were arranged by MD with Alec Wheatley from the SV Hall Committee, but his meeting was postponed. Another meeting will be arranged when both parties can attend. This was agreed by all at the meeting. Action: MD to reconvene this informal meeting.

- Heritage Fleurieu Coast Festival Meeting: SS spoke to this item. A scoping meeting to be held at The Centre on the 22nd February from 5.30pm to put forward ideas for the 2020 festival. SS suggested that the SVPA put together a program on William Randall who was very prominent in the area. i.e. Randalsea. GP who lives in the William Randall homestead offered to host an occasion at the property. JO offered to assist SS in planning with Rob Malone to speak at the event. Action: SS/JO/GP/RM to discuss. DO to table for April meeting.

- Remembrance Day Memorial Plaque: SS suggested that a new plaque depicting the two artists who mosaiced the table facing the path be installed. Wording has already been approved. Action: SS to update at April meeting.

  1. General Business:
    RW requested that new sandbags be purchased to secure the Tasty Tent marquee. Purchased was agreed upon. Action: AW to purchase when picking up umbrellas.
    AW requested that aprons depicting the SVPA logo be supplied to volunteers cooking at the sausage sizzle and attending the vegetable stall. This branding demonstrates to market goers that monies raised goes directly back to the SVPA and therefore back to the community for improvements. Action: AW to speak with Trish the local apron maker from Normanville to get quotes.
    GP spoke on Festival Fleurieu event at Pember Farm on the 13 April 2019. Opportunity for fundraising for SVPA. Action: GP/DO to discuss.
