Meeting called to order at 7:40 p.m.

Cheryl Moss Herman made a Motion to Approve the June Minutes. Motion passed.

Principal’s Report:

Mrs. Dougherty announced her retirement. It will be official November 1st. She is moving with her husband to Arizona. Mrs. Wanda Coates was introduced. She will be the acting principal. There will be a selection committee to select the new principal. Mrs. Coates may or may not be on the list of candidates.

Dr. Weist will visit RPES on Wed September 2nd at 2:00 p.m.

Test Scores: Science is on the MSA. Last year it was only for 5th grade. Science will be incorporated into all curriculum and there will be more writing. Math 7 will be offered for those students who are ready. Math is still a big focus this year.

Thanked volunteers for their time and money.

Mrs. Schuck moved to 3rd grade. There are 2 new learning cottages.

New Business:

Richard Hart introduced the PTA Board. Gave a brief explanation of what the PTA does and the need for volunteers. PTA raises money and 80% goes directly to the school.

Following the meeting we will have a meet and greet. You can sign up for various volunteer positions.
