PTO General Meeting Minutes

Principal/School Report
· Academics
o Parents conferences are coming up on Dec. 7th. Some grade levels are starting now and trying to get the parents of students who are at risk to come first. Parents will be able to sign up for conference through Sign-Up genius again this year.
· Faith
o Friday, October 16th was the Teacher Spiritual Day. All teachers enjoyed the retreat day.
o Catechetical Conference was on Saturday, November 7th. We had 3 teachers, 2 sides and myself attended.
o November 1st was the Saint Wax Museum. It went well.
o First Reconciliation Retreat was Sunday from 12:30 to 2. This is the first time we’ve had a 1st Reconciliation retreat and the comments from the teachers and Fr. Del say it should be yearly.
o Our second graders will be making Baby’s First Christmas ornaments again this year to deliver to babies that were baptized since Christmas of last year.
· We are Called to a Pilgrimage of Mercy (November)
o Serve one another is the theme and we will be collecting caned goods for various organizations.
· School Safety
o Navigate came and did a video overview of the school. We need to upload this and the complete report by the first of the year so we are in compliance.
· Pre-school Party
o We have a Thanksgiving Pre-school party scheduled for tomorrow, November 18th from 3:30 to 4:30
· Veterans’ Day
o At Mass on November 11th we honored our Veterans and had a reception following in the cafeteria.
Upcoming Events
· Dad/Lad
o Event went well sold about 135 cards
o Seemed to be a positive comments overall
· Secret Santa Workshop – December 4th and 6th
o Keep spreading the word, will be looking for volunteers
Fundraising
· Monthly dinners
o Marco’s raised $125.00
o Chick-Fil-A raised $150.00
· Box Tops
o Continue to get word out about collecting, overall we are down on these compared to last year
· Reward Program
o We will be putting out a list of all the different reward programs people can get signed up for
· Walk-A-thon
o We have started focusing on corporate sponsors right now, have sent out 75 letters to local businesses
o Theme this year is “Raise the Roof”
