  • A correction was made to the March 24, 2016 minutes: Under College Update, the number should be $40 million, not $46 million. Motion to approve the minutes of the 3/24/16 Full Board Meeting: Dave Gabauer.

  • New Business (Ken Baumann)
  • Ken thanked the Alumni Association for giving to the College so that we can achieve our 100% giving rate goal.
  • Ken briefly discussed nominations to the Full Board.
  • John discussed Chapter events, reimbursement procedures, as well as insurance and risk management. He noted that it now takes more time to get contracts approved. Kendra Bussey suggested that there be a checklist drafted this summer containing all requirements for Chapter events. Scott Rein asked what is classified as an “event.” John responded that anything sponsored by the Alumni Association or advertised is considered an “event.”
  • The Alumni Association thanked Dave and Karen Maurer for their efforts with the June 4 Citizens Bank Park event.
  • The Alumni 5K Race will take place on September 18, 2016. John and Ken recently met with Chuck Wright regarding sponsors.
  • Alumni Reunion Weekend 2017 will take place from April 27-29, 2017. The Alumni Association thanked John Anastasio for setting up a band at this year’s ARW.
  • Homecoming will take place on October 29, 2016. There is a new proposal regarding alcoholic beverage procedures that will allow alcohol at Homecoming events, but will only allow it to be supplied by a third-party vendor. There was discussion by members of the Full Board in opposition to these potential new procedures. Ken Baumann stated that he would draft a statement from the Alumni Association.
  • Review of the Consent Calendar (Chapter Representatives)
  • Updates were given by the following: Business, Criminology,Health and Exercise Science,Music, Rugby,and ETX.
  • No Report (NR): Education,EOF, Nursing, Swimming and Diving, TALANT, and Wrestling.
  • College Updates
  • The Legacy Luncheon will take place on August 25, 2016, which is the main move-in day. All board members are welcome.
  • A new event, Parent and Family Day, will take place on September 24, 2016.
  • Public Comment
  • Carol Harnett was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
  • Megan Flanagan received a Women in Law Enforcement Award from the State of New Jersey.
  • Rosie Hymerling received an award from the Jewish Federation for 50 years of teaching.
  • Next year will be the 30th anniversary of the 1987 softball championship. It was suggested that the 1996 team should also be recognized.

  • Dave Maurer is stepping down from his position. The Alumni Association thanked him for his dedication.
