1.DownsbrookPrimarySchool

Downsbrook is a friendly, happy and caring school with improving standards of achievement. Situated in the large and popular seaside town of Worthing, the school is well respected locally for its community focus and supportive nature. The school comprises outstanding facilities and the capacity to deliver a rich and engaging curriculum.

Following the anticipated conversion to the Schoolsworks Academy Trust, an exciting opportunity exists for an inspirational and engaging Head of School who can continue to build on the existing strengths and take the school forward. It is currently in Special Measures following an Ofsted inspection in September 2017. The dedicated staff team are keen to embrace change and are looking for a gifted and capable leader to help them move forward. This position would be suitable for a current Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher looking to further their leadership skills and experience.

A senior member of Schoolsworks’ leadership team has been actively supporting the school with its post-Ofsted action plan and the school is planning ahead with a sense of optimism. The Trust will continue to prioritise strategic leadership support to the new Head of School. In recent years, the school was remodelled from a middle to a primary school providingoutstanding accommodation including a music studio, extensive grounds and specialist rooms for food technology, art and science. There are currently 345 children on the role and this appointment provides an exciting opportunity to work with staff to develop a new curriculum and create and a new leadership team for the school’s continued success.
