This hospital is a 600 bedded tertiary care hospital with all departments namely emergency medicine, internal medicine and all subspecialities, intensive care units and dialysis units. During this period I am involved in receiving patients from the Emergency Department. The cases include myocardial infarction, bronchial asthma, COPD, cardiac failure, poisoning, acute abdomen etc. and admitting under the treating unit on the oncall days. All the strategic decisions like thrombolysis for vascular events and managing acute respiratory distress are done by me from emergency department. Involved in carrying out the teaching rounds for ,interns and students. Carry out the demonstration and theory classes for undergraduate students.

During this period I was responsible for the out patient , in patient andcasualty management which receives all Medical and surgical emergencies. I was in charge of the diabetic clinic of the hospital.

Joined as a specialist in internal medicine department of internal medicine, GOVRNMENT MEDICAL COLLEGE HOSPITAL CALICUT. It is a 2000 bedded tertiary care teaching hospital rendering to a population of 3 million in the State Of Kerala, under the ministry of health .The internal medicine department have an average inpatient number of 750 and outpatient number of 1000. Residents were involved in the work up of all inpatients. Rotations in various subspecialties for an average period of 4 months, including Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, and Rheumatology were undergone by me as a resident .Routinely paper presentation, publishing papers and attending conferences were done as apart of the residency programme. Original research under a guide appointed by the university and submission of the research work to the university was done as a requisite for doctoral degree awarded at the end of the residency programme. Regular teaching and demonstration sessions to the medical students were also done during the residency programme. Also took part in the disaster management team of Government of Kerala, for a period of 30 days pilgrimage where 30 million devotees attend during a time period of 120 days.
