1968-1973 - Translator and Interpreter for the Portuguese government in Angola, at the Governor-General’s office, Luanda. Translating transcripts from cassettes, taped foreign news broadcasts, interpreting for foreign government delegations, among others.
1973-1976 - Translator/Language correspondent for Argo Petroleum (American oil company), Luanda. Interpreting in conferences and negotiations with government authorities, financial institutions, and translating all relevant documents.
1976-1978 - Translator. Petrangol (Oil prospecting, exploration and refinery) for the Materials Department, Luanda. Making overseas telephone contacts regarding import of materials for the refinery, translating quotes and placing orders as well as in charge of all correspondence in English.
