  1. Update from OpenEd2016 Conference – Regina Gong provided an update on her experience at the OpenEd 2016 conference – her key take away was that this conference focused more on open pedagogy. She suggested that everyone get the book Paying the Price by Sara Goldrick-Rab one of the conference keynotes. Dr. Goldrick-Rab discussed the effects of college costs on a sample of students she studied over several years. Click here for more information about the book.

Tina Ulrich also was at the conference and said that she found a lot of conversation about sustainability and she also agreed that Dr. Goldrick-Rab’s presentation was compelling. Along with student savings of costs of education, this initiative is about social justice.
