BOD Meeting Minutes
June 13, 2016
BOD Members Present: James Broadbear, Steve Bruso, Jeremy Bryan, Brent Calvert, Audelle Cummings, Vince DeCandio, Keith Eichensehr, Roger Heideman, Bill Jones, Tony Morstatter, Tom Nolin, Andy Ommen, Jerry Stocks, Jason Wilson, Tiffany Ellsworth
Also present, MCPB Business Manager Brian Thede, Mike Pauken,
BOD Members not present: Brian Auer, Dave Blume, Roger Burns, Doug Fewkes, Bill Graden, Amy Green, John Harris, Kelly Hott, Renee Kresl, Cory Steers and Tony Yosten
Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by Steve Bruso at 6:02pm
May 2016 Minutes:
o Motion to approve May 2016 minutes made by Bill Jones, Vince DeCandio seconds, motion passes unanimously
Finance Overview:
May Treasurer's Report – Tony Morstatter
· Current Financial Standing
o Operating Account - $89,629.79
o Capital Account - $79,470.93
o Umpire Account - $3501.55
· Our income is up approximately $12,500 year and expenses have decreased $6300 from last year; Overall, up approximately $30,000 compared to last year at this time
Finance Committee Report – Tony Morstatter
· Workman’s Comp Insurance
o Discussed the need for Workman’s comp insurance through Compass Insurance
o Vince supports movement stating the risk out outweighs the cost
· Credit Card minimum charge
o Discussed and agreed to implementing a $5 minimum charge for credit/ debit card purchases at the concession stand
Registration Report – Amy Green
· Registration was higher than last year; Amy has contacted people w/o payment and is working through arrangements
· Fall Registration: Amy Green and Cory Steers are working with division presidents to gather info
Sponsorship – Brian Thede
· Chevy Youth Baseball t-shirts sold out
· Ripken clinic today is full

MCPB Business Manager updates:
Business Manager’s Report- Brian Thede
· Complex: played 74% of scheduled games; Vacant fields: Pony =12, Bronco = 10, Mustang = 12 (Colt = 15 + Sat am)
· Umpires: 331 games with umpires – 3 no shows, but able to be covered, no serious issues; Thank you to Brian Auer for shelves and lighting in the ULR
· Concessions: Business has been good; Thank you to Tom Bates for welding 2 stools
o Rebuilding year for workers- 28 workers, 20 training sessions
o Shop keep – Very well received
· White Hat: More help is needed; Current process is not working; Go- forward: Need open and closing white hat every day, at least 1 mid-day on Sat/ Sun and a few others.
Facilities/Fields:
Updates – Kelly Hott/ Andy Ommen:
· Grounds crew is doing a great job this year
· Pricing but doing more research on the permanent structure for netting between Shetland and colt; Proposal will be made to finance committee first
Divisional Reports:
· Shetland Division – Renee Kresl – no update
· Pinto Division – Jason Wilson –
o 8U Express tryouts this weekend; Probably 3 teams
· Mustang Division – Michael Sieg – no updates
· Bronco Division – Ray Windy – no updates
· Pony Division – Jamie Deffenbaugh
o Jamie will be resigning after this season
· Colt / Palomino Division – Mike Pauken – No updates
· Travel Program – Jim Broadbear
o Nail down dates for tryouts

o Home Run Derby – Monday, July 11th @ 5pm
§ Bloomington Normal Community bank will donate hot dogs, chips and soda. They will grill out; All proceeds are donated to PONY
§ Sports enhancement is allowing us to borrow their pitching machines
§ Orange Leaf – 20% proceeds donated to PONY
§ $10 per participant
o Spend the Night at Pony – Saturday, July 16th
§ Working on details; More to come
o Golf Outing – Saturday, August 20th @ 1pm
§ Following last year’s model; finalizing details
§ Bloomington Normal Community bank is sponsoring
