Clinical activities:

I am fortunate to work as a Spinal surgeon in large teaching hospital. Besides catering to the local population my team provide tertiary spinal services to Lancashire population and beyond. I perform 200+ major spinal surgeries per year that include a mixture of elective procedures such as Microdiscectomy to complex revision surgery, tumour and trauma surgery from Cervical to Thoraco lumbar spine.

Educational & Teaching activities:

  1. Successfully ran post graduate teaching programme for more than a year for the Directorate of Trauma & Orthopaedic for a year.
  1. Successfully supervised research activities for two research registrars for the trust.
  1. Currently Audit Chairman for the Directorate of Trauma and Orthopaedics.
  1. I am AO Faculty Member and teach regularly on various AO Courses.

Research & Audit:

I have a keen interest in Research & Audit that is reflected below. I had successfully supervised Orthopaedic research fellows at Royal Preston Hospital and I currently Chair audit activities for the Orthopaedics and Trauma Directorate.

I would like to contribute further to Research by co –ordinating Research activities for the Orthopaedics Higher Surgical Trainees of the North Western Rotation,
