Our Vision: “A Church where lives are Changed;
Hurting people are Helped and Healed;
and Members become Ministers for Christ.” / April 5, 2018
Online Edition
In this six-session series, you'll come to realize that, like David in the Bible, we must focus our minds on the size of our God, not on the height of our giants. We must believe in our hearts that our Lord is ableto overcome any area of bondage within us. We can be sure that whatever the source of our affliction, through the power of Jesus it can, must, and will, fall.
If you would like to join a small group and see the giants in your life defeated, sign up on the bulletin board near the church office or see Josh Echols. This study kicks off on Sunday, April 8th, 2018.

A PICTURE OF LOVE AND GRACE
I would like to share this story that appeared in Leadership magazine: There was a farmer who lived in the middle of Kansas, where he raised two sons. Both sons joined the Navy. The farmer’s brother, who was a psychologist, came for a visit. At dinner, the farmer said to his brother, “You’re a psychologist. I want you to tell me how a farmer living in the middle of Kansas can raise two sons who join the Navy and love it!”
That night, the psychologist slept in the boys’ room. The next morning, he came downstairs and told his brother, “I think I’ve got the answer for you.” They went into the boys’ room and the first thing they saw was a beautiful picture of the sea, and in the middle of the sea was a ship. They psychologist told his brother, “I want you to lay down on the bed and tell me what you see when you get up.” The farmer said, “I see the picture.” The psychologist said, “The first thing you see when you walk into this room is this picture. The last thing you see at night is the picture. And the first thing you see in the morning when you get up is the picture. Did the boys have this picture a long time?” The farmer said, “Yes, since they were about 3 years old.” The brother said, “If you think about a picture like that long enough, you might become a sailor.”
In the pages of God’s word, we find a portrait of God’s love that is seen most clearly in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. We also find a picture of how our lives can be transformed under His grace. Is that picture the focus of your life? Is the picture of God’s love and grace the first and last thing you see every day?
See you Sunday,
Bro. Wes
