May 28,2014 - Fundraising Committee Meeting Minutes

Attendance: Anna Allen, Laura Fallon-Burns, Oscar Arana, Darla Hilmoe, Renee Rank, Matt Morton, Nichole Maher, JR Lilly, Karen Ehn, Wayne Clark

  1. June NPNF/>24 Campaign
  2. JR handed out attached details of the >24 campaign.
  3. He shared the website that will be live on Monday, June 2nd.
  4. The June 10th NPFN proceeds will go towards United Way. NAYA could possibly winning $10,000 by getting the most votes. There are 27 organizations, including us, participating in this campaign.
  5. You get one vote per every donation more than $24. If you are going to donate $100, please do so in $25 increments so you can get 4 votes. Otherwise if you donate $100 all at once you just get one vote.
  6. There is a celebration on June 11th from 4:00-7:00 that United Way is having at On Deck in NW. At 4:30 they will give an update and share which organization is leading the way.
  7. Renee mentioned that we should show the connections as to why it is beneficial to donate to this instead of directly to NAYA, and also to show what United Way has done for NAYA.
  8. Oscar shared that on our campaign site it does explain the connection and benefits. This promotes our partnership with United Way as well as having our community help with raising awareness about childhood poverty.
  9. Renee mentioned social network campaign company, Grady Britton, that she will get the contact information
  10. Oscar also mentioned that the web page we are using for this campaign will also be the platform for the silent auction.
  1. Native Professional and Friends Night
  2. June 11th at PICA – 415 SW 10th Ave. Suite 300.
  3. It is on the roof top, and there is indoor space as well.
  4. You can register online.
  5. There will be five raffle items, donations welcomed.
  6. Laura has the blazer sweatshirt and hat to donate as a raffle item.
  1. NAYA Gala
  2. We will be partnering with Ecotrust, and Oscar and Matt are proposing the following schedule for the evening:
  3. 4-4:30 Reception for Ecotrust event that will be held where the volunteer room was last year.
  4. 4:30-5:30EcotrustIndigenous Leadership Award reception
  5. 5:30-6:45 Silent Auction
  6. 7:00-9:00 Gala
  7. 9:00-11:00 After Party
  8. Ecotrust will be able to have up to 30 people attend the gala.
  9. Nichole suggested us using an iPhone app for the silent auction. Oscar said that we are possibly going to do that next year at the ECA silent auction.
  10. We will have between 30-50 packages at the NAYA gala silent auction.
  11. Renee asked Oscar to submit the wine request directly to Lars and copy Brian.
  12. A Tribe Called Red can’t perform.
  13. It was discussed that maybe we don’t need a performance necessarily at the after party, and maybe just a DJ.
  14. We need to start collecting silent auction items now.
  1. Miscellaneous
  2. We received $1,200 from Fred Meyer Rewards last quarter. This is by people donating their rewards points to NAYA.
  3. In the next couple of months we will be putting together a capital campaign.
