MAY 2017 - - AP EXAM REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Students who will take an AP exam in May 2017 are required to complete the AP exam registration form and pay a $15.00 deposit for each AP exam they will take. Deposit payments, forms and online registration will be completed at REL on February 7-8 and at JT on February 9-10. ALL AP exam payments are non-refundable. The total cost per AP exam taken is $60. The cost per AP exam for students who have free or reduced lunch status is $15 (the deposit amount). Payment options are cash or check. Final payment (remaining balance due) for AP exams must be paid in full no later than Friday, March 3, 2017. Students who do not take AP exams for which they have registered and paid will NOT be reimbursed.

AP Test Reminders:

●ALL AP exams will be administered at the TISD Career & Technology Center at the designated date and time.

●You are required to arrive at the testing site at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the exam (7:30 a.m. arrival for an 8:00 a.m. exam and 11:30 a.m. arrival for a 12:00 p.m. exam).

●Students will not be dismissed until the exam period has officially ended. Do not ask to leave early if you finish before the end of the exam period. It is the responsibility of the each student to free his/her calendar for the entire duration of the exam period.

●Students are encouraged to get a good night’s rest and eat a nutritious breakfast prior to the exam. Food and drink are prohibited in the exam room. It is advisable to bring a sweater, in case the room temperature is below your comfort level.

●You are required to abide by the policies of both the College Board and TISD during the exam period. Any misconduct will be reported and could jeopardize your AP Exam score.

●Review the 2016-2017 Bulletin for AP Students and Parents that you will receive at the time of registration. If you have any additional concerns, talk to your teachers or contact TISD Advanced Academics Facilitator Jan Ace at .

Students are responsible for bringing the following items to the AP exam room:

●Several sharpened No. 2 pencils with erasers (no mechanical pencils) for completing multiple-choice answer sheets.

●Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions on most exams.

●A watch that does not have internet access, beep, or have an alarm (in case your exam room does not have a clock that you can see easily).

●Up to two calculators with the necessary capabilities if you are taking an AP Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, or Statistics Exam. (Visit to learn more about the calculator policy for each of these exams, and for a list of authorized calculators.)

●A ruler or straight-edge only if you are taking an AP Physics Exam. (Protractors are not allowed.)

Students are prohibited from bringing the following items into the AP exam room:

●Electronic equipment (cell phone, smartphone, laptop, tablet computer, etc.), portable listening or recording devices (MP3 player, iPod, etc.), cameras or other photographic equipment, devices that can access the internet, and any other electronic or communication devices.

●Unapproved aids such as books, compasses, mechanical pencils, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters*, notes, or colored pencils*.

●Rulers, straightedges, and protractors (except as noted above).*

●Scratch paper (notes can be made on portions of the exam booklets)

●Computers* or calculators (except as noted above).

●Reference guides, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions.

●Watches that beep or have an alarm, or smartwatches.

●Clothing with subject-related information.

●Food or drink.*

* Unless this has been pre-approved as an accommodation by the College Board Services for Students with Disabilities office prior to the test date.
