Thermolock®Marker Pen Ink #79

  1. Overview :

Thermolock®Marker Pen Ink #79is a solvent base inkthat performs semi-irreversible color changewhere color disappearsby heating ator above upper threshold temperature of 78-84℃andthe color will not develop again under temperatures in daily life conditions. Color could be back by lowering temperature at or below lower Maximum threshold temperature of -24℃. Possible application of Thermolock® Marker Pen Ink #79 may include marking pens for temperature control indicatorsby filling the inks into pen packages.

  1. Properties

Viscosity: 40~60mPa・s (at 25℃)

Density: 0.89±0.05 g/cm3

Flashing point: 18℃

  1. Hue

Gold Orange (when color is developed) →Clear (When color is disappeared)

Magenta (when color is developed) →Clear (When color is disappeared)

Fast Blue (when color is developed) →Clear (When color is disappeared)

Fast Black (when color is developed) →Clear (When color is disappeared)

*”Clear” when color disappears presents milky white.

  1. Color Changing temperature

Temperature at which color begins to change: 40℃

Upper threshold temperature: 78-84℃

Lower threshold temperature: -5℃

Lower maximum threshold temperature: -24℃

①Reversible color developments are repeated from “Temperature at which color begins to change” to “Upper threshold temperature”.

②Color starts to develop gradually from at or above “Upper threshold temperature”. Once temperature reached at or above “Upper threshold temperature” color will not develop again under temperatures in daily life conditions.

③To develop color again after color disappears, color will fully develop by lowering temperature at or below “Lower maximum threshold temperature” to bring back to normal life temperature. (Color will gradually develop at or below “Temperature at which color begins to change”. )

*Depending on material to be applied, humidity, and temperature, “Temperature at which color begins to change” and “Upper threshold temperature” may slightly change.

  1. Ink filling method / note:

(Things to be noted when mixing and filling inks)

①Inks may settle out in a state of hard cake during preservation. Thus, please fully stir it before using. Also, state and speed of settling out may differ depending on production lots.

②When using them for writing materials by filling them in pen packages, please use metal containers with valves.

③For felts for pen tips, please use one with rough texture so that inks pass thorough them easily.

④Metallic stirrer balls (stainless, φ7mm, 2pcs) are necessary.

⑤Standard ink contents: 2-5g / pen

⑥Please keep fire away because they are flammable.

⑦Please store them dark and cold place at or below 40℃.

⑧Shelf live is one year after production date.

(Usage note for filled pen)

⑨Please keep unused pens flat or keep their tips upward.

⑩When using pens filled with the inks, please shake them until metallic stirrer balls inside the pen packages make clicking noise.

⑪For pens in use (after inks went through pen tips), please store them by keeping their pen tips downwards.

⑫When inks do not come out, please use them after pressing pen tips 2 to 3 times.

⑬Please use pens after checking that there is no fire around due to their flammability. Also, please keep them out of reach of children.

⑭The inks contain trace amount of formaldehyde.

(Others)

⑮The inks are weak in light durability. Please consider this when using them for commercial products.
