The 11th VC’s Cup Cricket Tournament - 2012 commenced here in Delhi at various Sports Complexes of DDA. Sh. Alok Swarup (I.A.S.), Director (Sports), DDA while inaugurating informed that eight teams participating in this tournament would feel relaxed with the zeal to have sporting and competitive spirit. The tournament shall be played on pattern of T-20 on League cum Knockout basis. The results of the first round matches are as under:
Match – 1 Date – 04.02.2012 (Venue – Netaji Subhash Sports Complex, Jasola)
West Zone won the toss and elected to field. South Zone while batting first in stipulated 20 overs managed to score 127 for the loss of 8 wickets (Prathvi Jhamb – 56 Runs, Vikas Dagar – 25 Runs, Bhaskar Nand – 2/27, V. Rawat – 2/34). West Zone scored 128 for the loss of 6 wickets (Surender – 49 Runs, S.S. Khurana – 14 Runs, Vijay Verma – 14 Runs (N.O.), Vikas Dagar – 3/14, Joginder Singh – 2/24).West Zone won the match with 4 wickets. Man of the Match – Surender Solanki.
Match – 2 Date – 04.02.2012 (Venue – Netaji Subhash Sports Complex, Jasola)
Chief Architect – XI won the toss and elected to field. Vikas Sadan (HQ) while batting first in stipulated 20 overs managed to score 160 for the loss of 6 wickets (Sandeep Sharma – 66 Runs, Inderesh – 28 Runs (N.O.), Vivan Ahuja 19 Runs, Parminder – 16 Runs). Match – 5 (Venue – Chilla Sports Complex, Vasundhara Enclave)
South Zone won the toss and elected to field. Vikas Sadan (HQ) while batting first in stipulated 20 overs managed to score 138 for the loss of 5 wickets (Parminder – 44 Runs (N.O.), O.P. Chauhan – 42 Runs (N.O.), Vikas Dagar – 2/39, Ashwani – 1/17, Mahender – 1/18). South Zone scored 83 all out in 14.5 overs (Prathvi Jhamb – 14 Runs, Ashwani – 1/1, Parminder – 2/24, Rajender Rawat – 1/9). Vikas Sadan (HQ) won the match with 55 runs.
