About AREDP/MRRD:

The Mission of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) is to ensure the social, economic, and political welfare of rural society, especially poor and vulnerable people, through the provision of basic services, strengthening local governance, and promoting sustainable livelihoods. MRRD accomplishes this mission through donor funded national programs in the areas of governance, infrastructure and economic growth.

The Afghanistan Rural Enterprise Development Programme (AREDP) is aimed at harnessing the potential of the private sector for inclusive economic growth and sustainable job creation in rural Afghanistan over a 10-year time period. The program aims at building on the social capital gained under the National Solidarity Program (NSP) and transforming it into economic capital.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

A comprehensive training program for all new staff will be a cornerstone of the success of the AREDP program. Not only does the program seek to train its own employees, it will provide training to village level facilitators that are hired by the Facilitation Partners.

The Master Trainer (MT) is responsible to support the Training Specialist (TS) for the development of a comprehensive training program for all AREDP staff, including Business Development Officers, Community Enterprise Facilitators and Village Facilitators and to implement the plan, including delivering training modules.

Job Description:

DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.Conduct and deliver the training programs at provincial level for PEF(provincial Enterprise Facilitator) and VF(Village Facilitator) covering the relevant topics as determined in the modules;

ii.Conducting training according to the plan to enhance the knowledge, skills and behavior of PEF, VF and provincial staff and completion of conducted courses documents including the report of any courses in details;

iii.Implement and maintain training evaluation system for all major training events and specifically responsible for PEF and VF overall trainings;

iv.Work to maintain close contact with provincial office to anticipate training needs for field staff and provincial office staff;

v.Manage and ensure adequate supplies and equipment to support training programs;

vi.Conducting need assessment of provincial office staff to address their learning needs;

vii.Preparing and developing action and training plan for training activities;

viii.Remain responsive to any unidentified training needs as they arise;

ix.Any other duties or tasks assigned.

Job Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Knowledge/Experience

i.Bachelor degree with 4 years’ experience of working as trainer or master trainer or working on the development and implementation/delivering of training programs for an NGO, consultancy, or public entity;

ii.Knowledge of business development training is desirable;

iii.Knowledge of Microfinance/saving trainings is desirable;

iv.Experience in the general administration, logistics, finance and procurement activities for development projects would be highly desirable

Qualifications/Skills

i. Bachelor’s degree desirable

iii. Additional training in adult education, or techniques in professional development;

iv. Excellent Knowledge of local languages & Good in English

v. Excellent communication skills: speaking, writing, and listening;

vi. Good computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office packages and efficient user of Ms. Word and Ms. PowerPoint

Abilities

i. Personal commitment to improving knowledge and skills for Provincial office staff;

ii. Management skills to maintain staff productivity in a high pressure environment;

iii. Service oriented attitude to pro-actively seek training assignments from program and field staff;

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Provincial Manager and accountable to Senior Management in provincial level
