Description:
This course examines the key concepts and principles associated with the flow of materials and information from suppliers to customers for both manufacturing and service firms. Topics focus on the procurement, operations, transportation, and integration activities associated with a firm’s distribution system.
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of supply chain management concepts, principles and practices.
- Explain the importance of an efficient and effective supply chain system to a firm’s overall business performance in today’s global economy.
- Evaluate the performance of a firm’s supply chain system.
- Apply supply chain management theories and concepts to the design of a supply chain system.
Purpose
To provide in-depth knowledge of supply chain management functions in marketing management. This course covers the theories, concepts and practices of supply chain management, and fosters the development of the skills necessary to manage efficient and effective supply chain systems. Marketing concentration elective.
