“BABY SHOWER” FOR CATHOLIC CHARITIES

The Social Justice Ministry committee will be collecting baby items for the Catholic Charities office in Newport News. They are in need of the following items to help families in our area. Please bring your donations to church from May 6 through May 14. The Catholic Charities staff is very grateful for your support. This year there is a special need for Diapers – Size 4, as well as boys and girls summer clothing size Infant – 3T, baby wipes, baby lotion, baby wash,baby shampoo, wash cloths, bibs, burp cloths, pacifiers, and bottles.

COOKING FOR CROWDS

The Theresians will be hosting a free training on food safety May 25 at 1 pm in the Social Hall. "Cooking for Crowds" A Volunteer's Guide to Safe Food Handling presented by Glenn Sturm Extension Agent. The training is recommended for anyone who volunteers in the kitchen or brings food to church gatherings. Pre-registration is required to ensure enough teaching materials a sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board please sign up by May 21.

FIRST COMMUNION

First Communion will be held on Saturday, May 6, at the 5:00 PM Mass. We ask that you keep the 11 children receiving their First Communion in prayer.

PARISH COUNCIL ELECTION RESULTS

Parish Council Elections were held, and we now have 3 new members on Parish Council. Congratulations to Joan Lechene, Ron Haggerty, and Cathy Buquor who led the field of 5 in the voting. Thank you to all who agreed to be nominees in the election. It is wonderful to have parishioners so willing to serve on Parish Council.
