Dear Women's Guild of St. Paul,
Thank you so much for your very kind donations which you gave me in April and June. As always, I am deeply grateful. You help me to care for 67 youth in Kenya which I cannot do without your
love and kindness. We appreciate you so much. On our side, we are praying for you every day. May God bless you and your families. I love you. Fr. Ted

SYMPATHY

St. Paul Parish extends our sympathy to Mike Nichols and his family. Mike's father, Sterling (Swede) Eugene Nichols recently passed away.

Laura Cody- Principal

I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of St. Paul School. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 1990 from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa and my Masters in Education Leadership from WIU in 2008. I have been teaching 26 years, 21 years in 6th grade at St. Paul, so I am a familiar face with new duties. I have a deep passion and love for St. Paul School and all that it entails. I feel very blessed that I have this opportunity to help St. Paul continue to thrive as a strong faith-based school. My husband, Tom and I have lived in Macomb for 21 years. Our children Ryan (22) and Drew (16) both attended St. Paul. My husband is a professor in the Education and Interdisciplinary Studies Department at WIU and the NCAA Faculty Representative. In my free time you will find me walking my 3 dogs, attending WIU, St. Paul and Macomb Bomber sporting events, watching Cardinal baseball and relaxing with my family. Please know that my door is always open if you have any questions or concerns.

Abby Ruebush- 6th Grade

I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you as the new sixth grade teacher at St. Paul School. I reside in the country, north of Macomb, with my husband Karl and our seven year old son Kade. Karl works for Birkey’s Farm Store, and Kade will soon begin second grade at St. Paul School. Throughout the year we work together as a family on our small grain farm near Good Hope.

After graduating from Western Illinois University, I began my teaching career at Industry Junior High School as the sixth-eighth grade reading/language arts teacher. Two years later I started teaching fifth grade at Edison Elementary School here in Macomb. I taught fifth grade for five years before taking on my greatest role as a stay-at-home mom. For the last two years, I have worked part time as an Ag in the Classroom Coordinator for the McDonough County Farm Bureau and have been able to share my enthusiasm for agriculture with elementary students throughout the county.

In our home our faith is an integral part of our lives. It is clear to me, being a St. Paul School parent and having been a guest teacher at St. Paul School, that being able to meet the needs of the students academically and spiritually at the same time is invaluable. It is a privilege for me to be joining the St. Paul School family as a teacher, and I am elated to bring my teaching experiences with me and share my love of Jesus Christ and learning with St. Paul students.

Carrie Dunseth -5th Grade

I am honored and excited to be a part of the St. Paul faculty as the new fifth grade teacher. I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and taught elementary school there after graduating from the University of Illinois. A few years ago we moved to Macomb so my husband Jared could farm with his family. I loved working at St. Paul Preschool the last two years before accepting this new position. It is the highest privilege as a teacher to be able to educate students in a Christ-centered environment! I have two children, Grace and Jack, who attend St. Paul School. I love reading, traveling with my family, cheering on my Chicago sports teams, and playing with my dogs.
