Mason Scholarship Foundation Application
Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Mason
Scholarship grant is availablein the amount of $1500 per year, renewable for four years.
Selection Criteria
- Student must reside in the Mason City School District or attend Mason High School.
- Student must forwardone packet formatted in PDF of the application, transcript, personal statement and if applicable ACT or SAT scores by email to
- 2.50 Cumulative GPA, academicability and motivation to compete on a college level.
- Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate commitment to community service, strong educational motivation, leadershipskills through their activities in school, faith organizations, youth groups, volunteer efforts,and work experience.
- Information that will assist in the selection process is the FAFSA conclusion pagefor financial aid, work experience and letters of recommendation and any additional criteria in the selection process.
Letters of Recommendation
Choose three people to write letters of recommendation for you, and with whom you are confident will return the recommendations. It is strongly recommended that two letters come directly from a teacher or other school employee and one letter comesdirectly from an adult who knows you through work or volunteer activities. We must receive at least two letters of recommendation to consider you eligible for the scholarship. Letters of recommendation must come directly to the Mason Scholarship Foundation.

Important: Student Personal Statement:
On a separate typed document write a minimum of 300 words about why you selected your proposed program, your plans and goals for the future both short and long term. You should also include and other information about yourself, your family and background, your leadership in volunteering, and any other informationwhich will help the Scholarship Committee to evaluate your potential.
