Air Canada to cancel Toronto-Rio de Janeiro flights starting this fall
TORONTO – With demand to Rio de Janeiro forecasted to drop following the Olympic Games, and the ongoing challenges of the Zika virus that continues to plague the country, Air Canada has announced that it will be “suspending indefinitely our Toronto-Rio de Janeiro non-stop flights, effective mid-October.”

Westjet New seasonal non-stop routes and schedules
Non-stop service connecting Vancouver and Winnipeg to Halifax: WestJet has become the only Canadian carrier to serve Halifax non-stop from Vancouver and Winnipeg. Convenient schedules also connect WestJet's HalifaxandVancouverhubs to its extensive domestic network.
Non-stop service connecting Edmonton and Hamilton: Non-stop flights between Edmonton and Hamilton are now available for sale with service beginning on July 29, 2016.
Non-stop service connecting Winnipeg and Kelowna: Non-stop flights between Kelowna and Winnipeg are now available for sale with service beginning on July 28, 2016.
WestJethas also enhanced their schedules betweenVancouverandWinnipeg, andEdmonton and Vancouver to accommodate the busy summer months. FromJuly 28 to September 6, 2016, flightsfrom VancouverandWinnipegwill operate 24 times weekly and flights between Edmonton and Vancouverwill operate 54 times weekly.

New C and I fare classes added to Econo
WestJet has added two new fare classes, C and I, to the Econo fare bundle on select routes. As the new lowest published fare classes in Econo, the introduction of the C and I fare classes provide more availability to guests that are looking for the lowest cost option. WestJet's C and I class fares are Econo fares with all the same attributes.

UnitedUnited has Wi-Fi on 100% of our mainline aircraft.You can now connect, watch your favorite programmingor work onboard over 800 planes in our fleet. United Express regional jets are also getting the Wi-Fi upgrades. Gogo's ATG-4 advanced air-to-ground Wi-Fi product is being installed on E170, E175 and CRJ700 aircraft, with over 95% of the regional jet fleet already Wi-Fi enabled. Installations of regional jets are planned to be complete by October 2016.

Bigger bins are arriving on all new Boeing 737s

Introducing "Space Bins," larger storage spaces modeled after our 787 Dreamliner bins.The new bins allow 40 additional bags on a 737-700, 56 additional bags on the 737-800 and 62 additional bags on the 737-900ER. The lower bin-lip height makes loading and visual inspection of the bins easier, and no bin-assist mechanism is required to close the bins

24-hour fare guarantee

Agencies have the ability to guarantee a fare for 24 hours from the time the original reservation was made, provided that the record PNR includes a fare quote. If the fare increases within 24 hours of the initial fare quote, the original fare will be honored.When applying the 24-hour fare guarantee, fare rules that applied at the time of booking must still be met, including the Advance Purchase (AP).Read more.

TSA PreCheck offers expedited security screening and a better travel experience. To participate, eligible customers must enroll in one of the following U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Trusted Traveler programs:TSA PreCheck | Global Entry|NEXUS|SENTRI


Book travel with thesame name, date of birth and genderasthe government-issued ID used to apply to the DHS Trusted Traveler program.
  • The most commonerroris incorrect date of birth.
  • Ensure all booking profiles (agency/corporate, airlines, websites, etc.) have the correct DHS Trusted Traveler information.
Usethe correct Known Traveler Number (KTN).
  • TSA Pre✓:TT plus 7 alphanumeric characters (e.g. TT1111TY7)
  • Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI:9 digit PASS ID; often starts with98 (e.g. 981747089)
  • U.S. Military:10 digit Department of Defense ID number (e.g. 1401762236)
Encourage customers to addtheirKTNto theirunited.com MileagePlus profile.
  • Keep in mind - when someone initially adds a KTN to their MileagePlus profile, it could take up to 72 hours to process.

When a KTN is added to a PNR via the documentation SSR (SSRDOCO), it displays in both the agency and United PNR. United will then provide the KTN to the TSA.
  • Travelers may ask, "Why can't I see my KTN in my reservation on united.com?"
  • The reason is, United uses the following SSRDOCO construction (via Shares GDS) for Known Traveler Numbers (KTN):

  • KTNs entered with this format will display when customers view their Traveler Information in their reservation.
  • We realize that a non-Shares GDS user may enter a variation of the SSRDOCO format (allowed by IATA). The KTN will still be successfully transmitted to TSA, however, travelers may not see it in their united.com reservation.
  • We are working on updates so united.com will display GDS variations of the SSRDOCO format for KTNs.
If you entered the customer's KTN in the PNR, assure them it is in the PNR.
