Marriage Regulations

  1. Please meet with the Pastor before setting the date or time of your wedding. 3:00 p.m. is the latest time a wedding may be held due to the Saturday evening Mass Schedule.
  2. If you are inviting an outside priest to perform the ceremony, please check with the Pastor at the time you book the wedding here at Holy Family.
  3. Please clear the music selections with the presiding priest prior to the rehearsal. List of preferred musicians may be found at under “documents”. It is recommended that you make arrangements immediately with your preferred musician.
  4. For parishioners, the Church usage fee is $300.00. For non-parishioners and new members the Church usage fee is $550.00. Donation for the officiating priest is separate and not included in these amounts.
  5. Flower pedals, rice or birdseed may not be used inside the church or on the outside grounds of the church.
  6. Floral arrangements should be in good taste and should especially be kept simple during the Lenten season. Only non-drip candles are allowed in the church at any time.
  7. Turn in your civil license at the wedding rehearsal. The license must be purchased at least 72 hours in advance of the wedding.
  8. Couples are required to attend an Engaged Encounter Weekend, ( or 361-573-0828) or complete the online Marriage Prep (). Due to the limited spaces available, please make arrangements as soon as possible after setting the wedding date. A Foccus inventory is also required.
  9. The following guideline concerning behavior and dress should be strictly adhered to:
  10. Respectful behavior and dress in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament is required at all times.
  11. No strapless dresses or low cut dresses are allowed for the bride and her wedding party.
  12. No smoking or drinking in the church, bride’s room, etc.
  13. Speak at a low voice level during the rehearsal and the photo sessions.
  14. Photographs are allowed during the ceremony. Please remind your photographer that this is a church and respectful behavior is required at all times when pictures are being taken. Please note the more detailed form at under “documents”.
  15. Weddings planned/held during the Christmas and Easter season will not be allowed to make any changes to existing church decorations. The church will remain decorated in accord with the particular liturgical season.
