Course Description
This course is designed a comprehensive survey of the field of marketing communications—specifically related to promotion of yourself and your products as related to advertising, sales promotion, publicity, and public relations. The class investigates the role of promotion to the marketing mix, evaluates source and individual media, and special topics in sales promotion and public relations, as well basic life skills of personal living and personal finance.

- Evaluate creative strategy, copy (print and visuals) and media selection for a sample product.

Attendance & Punctuality
Since most work takes place in class with group assignments, attendance is a critical part of the course grade. Students must plan to attend EVERYDAY and attend class ON TIME. According to school policy, three (3) tardies count as one entire day’s absence. Students must sign in if tardy. When absent, it is the responsibility of the student to obtain missing assignments.
GRADING POLICY

Class participation, including group work and discussions cannot be made up, so plan to participate through regular attendance and a winning attitude!
*Homework
Homework is due at the beginning of the class period.
Class Projects 25%
ARTICULATED COURSE: COLLEGE CREDIT MAY BE ISSUED FOR THIS COUSE AT PARTICIPATING JUNIOR COLLEGES. MUST HAVE AT LEAST AN 80 AVERAGE TO QUALIFY FOR THIS CREDIT.
Each student MUST participate in a major course project to earn college credit. Projects will be defined and discussed within the first few weeks of school.

Late Work
10 points will be deducted for each day beyond the assignments due date.
Integrity Policy
By sustaining a learning environment that promotes academic integrity, we can greatly impact the quality of teaching and learning, academic and behavioral achievement, and interpersonal relationships. Therefore, the consequences for cheating/academic dishonesty are as follows:
1.The student will receive a grade of “0” for that particular assignment or test. If this is a student’s first occurrence of cheating, the student will have an opportunity to make up the assignment or test with a maximum possible score of 60. The assignment or test must be made up by the time designated by the teacher.
2.Parents will be contacted by the teacher.
3.The student will receive a Level 2 referral.
4.Any subsequent incidents of cheating regardless of instructor/class, during the school year, a grade of “0” will be assigned and there will be no opportunity for making up the assignment or test.
5.Academic dishonesty may impact student admittance or participation in extracurricular activities such as National Honor Society.

Grades will be distributed every 3 weeks, however, parents may request a special report at any time.
