Job Title: Marketing and Events Executive

Responsible to: Director of Social Enterprise NI

Job Purpose: The Marketing and Events Executive will be responsible for planning and delivering events alongside leading on marketing and communications activity for Social Enterprise NI’s programme of activities.

Salary: £23k (pro rata)

Contract: Part-time 2 days per week for 12 months with possibility of extenstion for further 2 years subject to performance/funding)

Location: Belfast based (travel throughout Northern Ireland, UK and elsewhere at times demanded by the job)

About Social Enterprise NI

Social Enterprise NI is a consortium of partner organisations. Business in the Community NI is the lead partner, contracted to deliver the ‘Social Economy Work Programme’ on behalf of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment http://socialenterpriseni.org.

Main responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating all marketing and promotional activities, publicity, external communications and event management for Social Enterprise NI. This will include maximising digital marketing and social media opportunities.

Specifically the post will involve:

Media, PR and Event Management

1.  Assist in advertising, photography and promotional activities to ensure maximum promotion through a range of mediums to include TV, radio, local and national press.

2.  Provide regular editorial features and advertising in relevant business magazines and member and link organisations’ newsletters.

3.  Liaise with key media contacts, PR agencies and photographers as appropriate to maximise promotional activities.

4.  Draft and edit press releases and secure authorisation for same, prior to release. This will include acting as out of hours media contact when necessary.

5.  Monitor consistency of corporate identity, services branding, corporate literature and promotional materials and assist in the design and printing of same.

6.  Ensure Social Enterprise NI is represented at all relevant exhibitions and events and assist in organising events as required.

7.  Assist in recording all relevant data to improve quality of events and to ascertain relevancy.

8.  Participate in external promotional events at times and venues required including evenings and weekends, and travel as required to meet the needs of the organisation.

9.  Event and project management support for all key events including Annual Awards and Conference (this will include promotional work. issuing invitations, programme design, sourcing speakers, speaker briefings, event evaluations etc).

10.  Support to collate annual report and social impact report for Social Enterprise NI’s work.

Digital Marketing:

1.  Design, maintain and continually update the Social Enterprise NI and BuySocialNI websites to ensure they are user-friendly and reflective of the needs of the target audience.

2.  Analyse the effectiveness of the websites through the provision of statistical reports for return on investment and decision making purposes.

3.  Manage a range of e-communication channels to include e-newsletters and updates for members.

4.  Maximise website presence through Search Engine Optimisation.

5.  Manage all social media activities to promote the work of Social Enterprise NI and its members.

Additional Responsibilities

1.  The post holder may be required to carry out other duties that are reasonably to be considered as within the scope and purpose of the job and the aptitudes of the job holder

2.  To work as a member of the Business in the Community team adhering to policy and practice and developing mutually beneficial working relationships with the other BITC programme areas and team members
