Anjali K. Lall was born on September 21, 1995. She passed away on June 7, 2014 soon after completing her freshman year at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where she was an honors student in the College of Biological Sciences with plans of attending medical school. Anjali successfully completed her first year and was on the Dean’s list for both semesters. While at the University of Minnesota she volunteered at the Jeremiah project and was a lab assistant at the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes, Department of Medicine. Anjali was selected to be a General Board Member of the CBS Student Board for the 2014-2015 school year.

Anjali was a 2013 graduate of Davies High School, Fargo, ND. As a graduate of Davies High School she left a mark on the local community and was active in debate, speech, student congress, orchestra and Fill the Dome. She was a 2013 North Dakota’s US Presidential Scholar, a 2013 National Merit Scholarship winner, and a 2013 YWCA Woman of the Year. During summer of 2013 she was a Barry Foundation intern at The Arts Partnership where she started Chalk Fest. In 2012, Anjali represented ND at the 75th Annual National Finals for the American Legion High School Scholarship Program and in 2010 she won the National Peace Essay Contest organized by the United States Institute of Peace.

Anjali touched the lives of many. Her teachers, mentors and friends remember her for her beautiful smile and gracious attitude, self-discipline, leadership, and kind and giving spirit.

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Davies High School senior with aspirations to pursue a career in healthcare.

General Scholarship Requirements

  • GPA of 3.75 or higher.
  • Plans to attend a four year college with aspirations to pursue a career in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated financial need.

  3. Attach a short essay on a separate sheet with the following information:
  • Discuss your plans including the university you plan to attend and the major you want to pursue.
  • Discuss your interest and passion in pursuing a career in healthcare and how this scholarshipwillmake a difference.

4) Please attach 2 Letters of Recommendation: one from a science teacherand one from aschool staff member.

Selection Process

Davies High School staff will evaluate applications and choose recipient. The scholarship award check will be sent directly to the college/university on behalf of the recipient.
