Mark Klassen reached Blue Diamond with Nu Skin very quickly.* He had previously been with a logistics company where, after eight years, he decided that he no longer wanted to have a boss or a rigid schedule. Knowing that he wanted to make a difference in people’s lives, he started selling insurance.
He discovered the world of network marketing three years ago and found Nu Skin by meeting one of the most dynamic leaders in the industry. They exchanged cards and after a couple of days she called him with a question that changed his life.
“Are your roots planted in what you’re doing?” She asked Mark. He didn’t respond for about 45 seconds, but then he concluded that his roots were definitely not planted in what he was doing. He wasn’t on a road that would lead him to his hopes and dreams, so he listened.
Though Mark had an open mind, he was a bit skeptical becausehehad had some bad experiences with other Network Marketing companies.
“I went to my first fly-in with my arms crossed, but they came open pretty quickly,” he remembers.
He was impressed by everything he saw, especially by the corporate support. Since starting his business he has called with questions time and time again.
“Just because it’s an emergency on my part doesn’t mean it should be on their part,” Mark said. “But they treat it like it’s their business and like we’re all that matters. That’s pretty incredible.”

He has confidence that with great leaders and great products anyone who puts their heart into this business will succeed.
Mark’s “why” is the reason he has been so successful in this business. Everything he does is for his wife, children and the good of people he encounters.
“I’ve got to have purpose in my life and what I do has to matter,” he said. “If I can be the best husband, the best father and lead a good life, then I’ve hit my why.”
Because of Nu Skin Mark has found both time and financial freedom. His leveraged income has enabled him to spend quality time with his wife and kids.
“You know what the key to my success is?” Mark asked. “Serving others full stop.”
Mark loves empowering people. He believes that by serving others he is helping them reach their goals and which also helps him reach his goals. His advice to his downline or anyone new in the business is “know why you’re in this business and never quit.”
He says it is fundamental for everyone in this business to know their “why.” After that you just need to work hard and don’t ever give up.
“It’s worth every ounce of sacrifice,” Mark added. “You need to be coachable and be willing to listen to your mentors.”
Mark’s final piece of advice is to “treat others the way you want to be treated.”
Mark knows that this business takes a lot of hard work, but he also knows, from experience, that it pays off.
