Information for Marine Science Field Trip

October 1, 2, and 3, 2014

Required Disposable Items: Old Clothes (pants & shirt), Swimsuit, Marsh Shoes; and shorts for the bay

Suggested Items:

Beach Towel Rain Gear

Sneakers (NO: Flip Flops or Sandals) Jeans and nicer shirt for restaurant

Toothpaste & Brush Bug spray

Hairdryer Warm clothing (after marsh & bay) Soap and Personal Toilet Articles Warm Coat, Hat, Gloves Sunglasses Comb

Rules and Regulations:

·  All school rules and regulations apply.

·  During the three activities in which students will interact directly with the aquatic environment, the students will be required to wear appropriate attire (disposable: old clothing, bathing suits, and protective footwear).

·  The flora, fauna, and salt water of the region should not be ingested at any time.

·  Camera and binoculars are optional. They are your responsibility, as the facilities are not locked during the day.

·  Space is limited bring only the necessary items. (Suitcase or duffel bag)

·  You are responsible for seeing your teachers concerning assignments for the three days of the trip.

·  Bring along several plastic garbage bags for your dirty and wet clothing.

·  All activities occur rain or shine.

·  The only money needed is for souvenirs and meals (no meals will be provided by the staff at Cape Henlopen). The students are encouraged to bring any foods, rather than purchasing them at local Cape Henlopen convenience stores. Please make sure all foods are labeled with the students name so it may be placed in the refrigerator. Extra labels will be needed for perishables purchased at Cape Henlopen.
