MARBLE FALLS TRI INFO

Thank you for participating in the Marble Falls Triathlon. Marble Falls is located around 45 min. northwest of Austin and approximately 90 minutes north of San Antonio on U.S. 281 North at the Colorado River (Lake Marble Falls). This event will be chip-timed, chips are handed out race morning by the water. If you elect to use your own chip please let the chip personnel know your number. Racers are responsible for turning in chips, lost chips result in a $35.00 fee to the racer.

Parking: You will be turning onto 1st street (at the Chili’s) from US281 and follow it around. The transition area is by the main boat ramp on the north side of the lake on the basketball courts. There will be volunteers directing you where to park. We have devised a plan for everyone’s safety so please be courteous and abide to this plan. Certain areas are coned off so please do not go beyond any coned area.

Sunday: Transition area opens @ 5:30am to check in bikes. Racking will be “open rack” except for the relay area. Body marking will also begin at this time. Please be courteous, use minimal space. Race starts at 7:00 a.m. give yourself the time needed to get racked, marked and prepared.

Swim: The swim is a 1000 meter triangular counter-clockwise course. It is marked with buoys and will be monitored from boats and kayaks. If at any time you start having difficulty please raise your arms up and signal for help, try not to panic.

Bike: A 23 mile out and back rolling course through the HILL Country. DRAFTING is illegal and will not be tolerated. Draft marshals will be out on the course. Please do not throw any trash on the course. Bike course will be sagged. All USA Triathlon cycling rules apply (see usatriathlon.org for more info). Police and volunteers (in orange) will be out on the course. Be aware all roads are open to the traffic. Please use caution and do not cross center lines as well as median lines. Take all precautions at intersections and please do not take any unnecessary chances.

Run: An out and back 4.4 mile run along Lake Marble Falls. The course is well marked and there are aid stations every mile, please stay hydrated. Remember, the course is open to traffic so please use caution.

Post Race: Food, Music and Fun await you! Awards ceremonies following the last participants finish (approx. 11a.m.) We ask that the food and drink be consumed by the participants only and be thoughtful of the other racers who are finishing later. We try our best to plan and accommodate every racers need, a lot of time and effort goes into providing a safe, fun and challenging course for our participants. Please take the time to thank our wonderful hard working volunteers with a special mention to our Police and EMS Dept. for looking out for our safety.
